Reporting to the Director of Strategy and Business Development, the Senior Analyst is responsible for collaborating with a wide range of functional business partners to solve business problems and influencing senior leadership to advance Athleta's overall brand priorities and long-range growth plans. The Senior Analyst of Strategy will be responsible for supporting the identification, development, and implementation of new growth opportunities across Products, Channels, and Markets through competitive intelligence, as well as business and financial analytics. The Senior Analyst will have the unique opportunity to work closely on the Product front in collaboration with our Merchandising Category Leads. We are looking for someone who possesses strong strategic mindset, analytical skills, project management experience, and retail industry knowledge. The candidate selected for this role will be expected to identify issues, form hypotheses, design and conduct analyses, and synthesize conclusions into recommendations to help implement change.

  • Support development of both annual Brand Priorities and Long-Range Plan (LRP) including identification and prioritization of key initiatives, financial and business case modeling, as well as market and competitive assessment

  • Collaborating with Merchandising Category Leads to identify white-space product opportunities, refine long-term product vision, monitor and report monthly / quarterly competitive positions, and participate in pre-season ideation and planning process to ensure successful execution of our overall product strategy

  • Initiate ad-hoc analyses to solve business problems, create alternatives, and guide business and investment decisions

  • Influence the organization's decision making by providing actionable views of market & competitor insights, consumer insights, macro trend insights, and internal performance analysis

  • Develop and maintain effective cross-functional and cross-divisional relationships

  • Collaboration & Influence: Able to build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners to navigate complex situations. Can effectively influence and present ideas that lead others to action

  • Systems & Tools Expertise: Expert in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and have aptitude to learn technical applications quickly and effectively

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 2-3 years of proven business experience preferably in the retail, consulting or investment banking industry

I am part of the Revenue Operations & Strategy (ROPS) team and lead the Sales quota & capacity planning, and provide strategic support on incentive compensation planning process. Additionally, I partner with Head of ROPS and sales leaders on leading the territory management. ROPS organization is the company's hub to provide business support, critical insights using analytics, ensures cross functional alignment of goals and execution, and helps teams drive strategic partnerships and new initiatives forward. How will you be doing this? Strategy & Planning * Lead the development and implementation of sales incentive compensation policies and processes for our sales teams across all segments; develop processes that scale as the company continues growth * Create models, perform analysis, and develop presentation materials in support of the annual incentive compensation planning process * Lead, maintain and update quarterly quota and capacity planning – a critical pulse for our fast-growing teams. Process & Partnership * Maintaining the core data requirements in calculating sales commissions (i.e., sales hierarchy, target incentive, quota, leveraging data from our HRIS system and Salesforce) and manages exception requests. * Partner with FP&A and Legal to ensure accurate and timely distribution of individual sales compensation documents to a global sales organization, and support FP&A efforts for budgeting and forecasting of commissions. * Provide regular and ad hoc support and analysis for board decks and executive presentations * Support the implementation of new business processes and reporting to increase sales efficiency and effectiveness * Proactively recommend and deliver process improvements. What will you bring to the team? * 5+ years of Finance, Sales Strategy & Operations experience * Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or equivalent practical experience. * Proficient with both and Tableau, as well as mastery of Google sheets, with the ability to manipulate large data sets to draw meaningful insights and recommendations * Strong analytical, operational and problem solving skills with a high attention to detail * Self-starter and the ability to be agile in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment * Passion for helping your teammates learn, grow, and succeed * A sense of humor!
