What you'll be doing...

The position will be a direct report to the Senior Manager- Tax. The Sales Tax Senior Analyst is part of the Indirect Tax (Transaction Tax) Team. This position is responsible for working with 3rd party Tax Outsourcer to ensure accurate and timely filing of State and Local Sales & Use, Gross Receipts, State & Local Excise, PUC Levies, E911, and USF returns. We are committed to providing the highest levels of compliance and you will support our efforts by ensuring the accurate and timely filing of state and local tax returns for our regulated and non-regulated companies. You will also perform a variety of other activities including data analysis, journal entries, account reconciliations, issue resolution, and more. Your work will have a direct impact on our reported financial results and ensure compliance with internal controls and external legislation.

• Responsible for the accurate and timely filing of transaction tax returns

• Analyze financial data from Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Revenue Accounting and Corporate Accounting

• Review transaction tax data to ensure it is accurate and analyze variances prior to sending data to 3rd party outsourcer for filing

• Implement process improvements through the use of innovative & creative thinking

• Work with automation tools (e.g. Alteryx) to reduce redundant tasks by using innovative techniques such as Robotics and designing process flows

• Review, analyze, and streamline tax processes

• Manage and meet tight deadlines during the monthly compliance process

What we're looking for...

You are a whiz with numbers and enjoy digging into details to identify root causes. Communicating complex details in a way everyone understands comes naturally to you. You'll need to have:

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

• Three or more years of relevant work experience.

• State and local tax compliance experience.

• Experience with the tax compliance process

• Experience with automation tools (e.g. Alteryx)

• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Power Query.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or four or more years of work experience

• CPA or Master's degree in taxation

• Experience with large automated systems (e.g. billing, general leger, A/P)

• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.

• Knowledge with automated tax systems (e.g. Vertex)

• Experience with SAP

• Tax research and audit experience

• Ability to develop methods to streamline processes and develop tax planning strategies to minimize the company's cash flow and overall tax burden

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
