Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. seeks a Sr. Analyst, Participations Cash Management with a curious mind and a passion for process improvement, as well as an interest in cash forecasting, to join the Financial Contract Reporting & Administration department (FCRA). The Senior Analyst, Participations Cash Management is responsible for assisting with the Participations cash budget as well as reviewing Participations statements. This role will provide you with an opportunity to join a team that is committed to ongoing process improvement, as well as an opportunity to learn about various aspects of the entertainment industry.

The Senior Analyst will assist in the cash forecasting process, ensuring the timely preparation of participations monthly and yearly cash forecasts. This position will also review and understand contractual agreements, ensuring that all financial obligations are met. Additionally, this position will be responsible for brainstorming/implementing process improvement ideas, documenting changes to business processes, and ad-hoc special projects.

  • Forecast monthly/yearly/quarterly participation budget and forecast using constantly evolving methodologies.

  • Leverage the Participations reporting system to perform detailed participations cash flow modeling for film & television product, utilizing known contractual reporting obligations, latest internal projections, various reports, and specialized media knowledge, i.e. windowing and release patterns, distribution cost trends, etc.

  • Conduct variance analysis of actual participations payments against budget/forecast.

  • Identify and implement potential improvements in cash forecasting and other business processes including reporting to achieve greater accuracy and efficiency while communicating any obstacles, challenges, enablers and successes.

  • Prepare/review participation statements to ensure financial integrity and contractual compliance.

  • Assist in special projects, process documentation, and ad-hoc analysis/research as necessary, including buyout analysis and participant and/or auditor queries.

What do we require from you?

  • Bachelor's Degree required.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in participations, forecasting, process improvement, or related field.

  • Entertainment industry experience preferred.

  • Previous financial accounting experience preferred.

  • Previous experience interacting with management across multiple organizational areas.

  • Previous experience presenting to various staff levels, leading meetings & trainings, etc.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Cash flow/budgeting experience preferred.

  • Experience with system implementations and testing preferred.

  • Experience in a large corporate environment preferred.

  • Experience in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented environment.

  • Financial reporting for media and entertainment strongly preferred.

  • Distribution of film, TV and physical goods products for media and entertainment.

  • Effective communication.

  • Effective time management skills to handle multiple and changing priorities; ability to thrive in an environment that demands constant process changes.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with other analytics tools, such as Tableau.

  • Experience with cloud based collaboration tools (e.g. MS Teams, Slack, Google Apps, JIRA), strong Excel skills, and familiarity with Agile methodology a plus.

  • Aptitude to quickly learn new technologies.

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

  • Must be able to work efficiently under time constraints.

  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks with changing priorities.

  • Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Must be customer service oriented.

The Cash Management Lead is responsible for assisting the Manager in running the day-to-day operations of Cash Forecasting and Cash Processing (collectively Cash Management). The Cash Management role involves interacting with many stakeholders including Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Enterprise Financial Services (EFS), the FP&A Teams from Production and Distribution Business Unit Finance teams and Production Payroll (HRS). At each major financial planning cycle and subsequent monthly updates, the team prepares participation disbursement forecasts for recent releases, older titles that continue to have significant payouts and a composite forecast for library titles. The team will also be responsible for managing the day to day activities related to the payment of Participation statements working with Payroll and Treasury to ensure timely payments. A key component to success at the Lead level is team building, training, staff development, and empowerment. The Lead is an important constituent in ongoing cross-divisional initiatives related to leadership development, knowledge sharing, soft skills training and mentorship opportunities. As part of Participations Reporting, this role reviews legal agreements and participation statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual obligations as well as statement review and analysis. Additionally, the Lead will be responsible for managing process improvement, system design, user acceptance testing and support for special projects. * Prepare the Participations monthly, quarterly and annual cash forecast deliverables allowing sufficient time for analysis and review by Management. Facilitate the transition and centralization of the Payment Processing Operations considering appropriate internal controls (including SOX requirements). Be responsible for the day to day review of the Payment Summary and resolve issues as they are escalated by disbursement groups including Payroll and Treasury. Participate in the preparation and analysis of deferment calculations and master the workflow to ensure timely payments. * Manage all aspects of team function including, but not limited to, teaching concepts and mechanics, scheduling work flow, assigning and monitoring team assignments. * Reviews participation statements to validate contractual and financial accuracy and compliance. Process includes validating the deal set-up, and confirming accuracy of all statement related information. Performs and analysis and research including analyzing various reports from multiple systems and SAP. Also, interfaces with broad set of individuals to obtain explanations for variances. * Identify improvements and enhancements related to the Cash Management processes, system and tools and participate in design and testing. Activities may include organizational research, process design, collaboration and negotiation to create efficient integration points, process documentation and change management implementation.
