As a member of the Brand, Marketing, Sales & Consumer Services (BMSC) Finance Business Partnership (FBP), the Senior Business Analyst will contribute to the execution of financial support to the Loyalty Programs (Marriott Rewards, SPG, Ritz-Carlton Rewards, Co-Brands, MVW, and Global Gift Cards) ensuring the Program's ongoing financial health and stability and enabling the achievement of the Programs' financial goals and objectives.
The Senior Analyst will provide proactive support to compile, analyze and translate data into actionable financial information for use by the FBP BMSC Loyalty team and will support of the Programs financial objectives for the Global Marketing team, and other key stakeholders. Specifically, the Senior Analyst will contribute to:
The ongoing monitoring, measuring and forecasting of financial performance and assist in the development of actionable recommendations to address identified business challenges and opportunities.
The timely and efficient execution of key financial business processes.
The ongoing accounting & analysis as required by FBP-BMSC leadership, or other key stakeholders in response to requests to evaluate leadership inquiries, proposed program enhancements, tax matters or other areas of concern.
The ongoing monitoring of the control environment and the development of actionable recommendations to improve controls and processes.
The reporting and forecasting processes including the Program cost per point, Marketing Funds forecast and budget, Promotions reporting, Reimbursed Revenue reporting, and MVW costs tracking
The Senior Business Analyst will support departmental objectives. He/she will establish and maintain strong relationships with the Global Finance groups and BMSC stakeholders to help effectively address business issues, identify and implement appropriate solutions, influence, as appropriate, business decisions, and improve overall business results.
Support efforts to monitor and measure the financial performance of the Loyalty Programs to help ensure results are aligned with business objectives.
Maintain effective reporting and analysis for the Loyalty Programs.
Support the timely and effective execution of key financial processes including data gathering and analysis related to program reimbursements, funding, and promotional costs.
Support the finance and accounting work related to the development and implementation of new processes that support key business objectives.
Assist in timely and accurate analyses of program financials to support accounting procedures and to respond to internal management, legal, owner, and audit inquiries.
Identify and help implement process improvement opportunities in the interfaces with Global Finance groups.
Perform ad-hoc analyses for and/or provide information to and advise, as appropriate, the BMSC FBP team, BMSC staff and other Global Finance groups on the business environment and key operating issues within the discipline.
Serve as a subject matter expert on financial matters related to the Loyalty Programs. He / She will have a strong working knowledge of the program infrastructure and will be able to analyze the financial implications of proposed Program changes. The Manager will provide ad-hoc financial analysis as required by FBP-BMSC leadership, or other key stakeholders in response to requests to evaluate leadership inquiries, proposed program enhancements, tax matters or other areas of concern.
Partner with SLC to develop and operationalize the appropriate financial controls to ensure that MI financials accurately reflect the Loyalty Programs' redemption costs and hotel funding incurred.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with Business contacts to provide guidance and/or consultation in the development and implementation of strategies to improve financial and operational performance and owner transparency.
Provide functional and detailed support to assist in various Enterprise- and/or Program-wide initiatives.
Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Minimum 4 years relevant professional experience
Knowledge of programs and services, and funding sources preferred
Education or Certification

Solid knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Understanding of management and franchisee contracts
Excellent computer skills: advanced knowledge of MS Excel
