Position Summary

The Logistics and Distribution department is responsible for ensuring delivery of our products to our end customer at a high level of service, damage free and at the lowest possible cost. This includes ensuring our 15 facilities and several vendors have the resources to serve our final customer. Department responsibilities include carrier onboarding, contract and rate negotiation, and management, special dedicated or project capacity generation, TMS oversight, training and support, dedicated fleet management, freight claims management, freight payment, distribution center operations and optimized network footprint.

Responsibilities

This teammate is responsible for supporting the FSBP distribution centers, 3PLs and shipping teams within the manufacturing plants. Responsibilities include:Focusing on safety, improving service levels of on time, in full shipments to customers, meeting productivity targets and cost reduction opportunities Evaluate and make recommendations for network footprint and communicating changes that will improve service and reduce cost

Analyze warehouse capacity and drive implementation of most efficient warehouse layouts and picking flows

Driving optimal performance levels through process improvement and standardization, including implementation of Lean tools

Implementing technology to increase visibility throughout the supply chain

Participate in strategy planning to support footprint of future business needs

Ensure best flow of goods from manufacturing facilities to distribution centers Communicating KPIs and understanding root causes in order to identify opportunities for improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree required, degree in Logistics or related field desired. 5+ years of relevant experience in logistics or distribution. Strong computer and analytical skills.

    Experience working with network modeling, warehouse slotting tools, WMSs and route optimization. Ability to work well in teams and work with and train remote teammates.
