Position Summary

The Senior Analyst, Financial Reporting is responsible for the accurate and timely filing of Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory reports. In addition, the Senior Analyst generates consolidated monthly internal financial statements and performs complex accounting such as derivatives and stock compensation.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assists in the financial reporting to the SEC on Form 10-Q and Form 10-K and any other ad-hoc reporting forms that may be required

  • Financial reporting to the DOT on Form 41 and related schedules

  • Federal and international financial surveys and regulatory reporting

  • Generates monthly cash flow statement

  • Provides schedules and support for internal monthly financial statements and reporting package

  • Responsible for the consolidation of subsidiaries

  • Derivative accounting for fuel hedges and interest rate swaps

  • Stock compensation accounting and profit sharing accrual

  • Preparation of 401K financial statements and coordinate plan audit

  • Researches technical accounting issues as needed

  • Ad-hoc reporting as needed; provides regular updates to team members and leadership; organizes and leads interdepartmental project teams

  • All other duties as assigned

MinimumExperience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • CPA or CPA candidate

  • Four (4) of experience in a related field

  • Solid understanding of accounting theory and United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite

  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines

  • A strong and confident communicator with strong inter-personal skills

  • High degree of accuracy through attention to detail

  • Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Two (2) years' experience in public accounting or in a financial reporting capacity with an SEC registrant

  • Proactive attitude, looks for continuous improvements

  • Comfortable working in a team and independently, willing and able to take on responsibility as needed

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Regular attendance and punctuality

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

  • Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Promote JetBlue's #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue's Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards

  • Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue's confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))
