SR Analyst - Contracting

OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE
Provide technical and analytical support for commercial (payor or trade accounts) contracts including:
Drafting and editing contract documents
Negotiating terms and conditions with external customers
Managing contract compliance
Draft business exceptions from initial request through approval and to resulting contract amendment or notification
Resolving internal/external customer issues and concerns
Manage all contract administration for assigned contracts including:
Documenting portfolio requirements for accurate establishment of the contract terms in the rebate processing system (payor accounts) or managing pricing system maintenance/set up and price changes (trade accounts)
Ensuring all product and price notifications are communicated on a timely basis
Partner with finance, credit and collections and customer service to resolve pricing issues or rebate issues
Create ad hoc analysis for field sales teams for customer purchase pattern history to review contract compliance
Works cross functionally with Managed Markets, Legal, and Finance to ensure business alignment of opportunities and risks of to drive profitable growth.
Act as subject matter expert and provide cross-functional training on contract operations and contract language interpretation
Provide financial/business analytical support to pricing and legal initiatives that enforce contract compliance
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Provide a high level of contracting support including drafting and editing contract documents, executing contract documents, managing deadlines relative to contract expirations and post contract evaluation for commercial payor, Medicare Part D and/or trade accounts to achieve favorable economic and/or strategic terms
Independently interact with Legal, Managed Markets and external customers to discuss business issues to ensure that business deals meet or exceed the requirements of the corporation and the department
Interprets and translates business case requirements into contract language, predicts potential customer concerns, negotiates contract language with external customers and translates such information to ensure accurate contract and pricing establishment and rebate calculations
Ensures that business cases, contract documents and business exceptions are properly catalogued and stored to ensure secure archiving and seamless support in preparation of audits
Supports internal/external audits by preparing and providing the necessary documentation
Assists with the contract implementation of modified strategies, new product launch activities and special projects
Identifies, recommends and implements opportunities for process efficiencies including collaboration with Rebate, Chargeback and Pricing Analysts to drive increased efficiencies
Ability to build strong partnerships and drive role clarity with other interfacing Takeda functions, including but not limited to Finance, Internal Audit, Legal, Regulatory, other Compliance functions as applicable.
Ability to understand Takeda's diverse product portfolio (Gen Med, Specialty and Plasma) and ensure compliant practices across the managed markets, C&P, Controller and Finance organization.
Effectively interact with staff and management from all functional areas as well as with key customers across Managed Markets, USBU Finance, Legal and Audit
Ability to implement change that will enhance the overall effectiveness of the USBU Finance C&P and Controller organizations
EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
Masters degree preferred.
5 years of business experience
3+ years of progressive experience in one or more of the following areas: Marketing, Pricing, Contracts, Sales, or Finance in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
Experience with SAP and Model N software
Experience in drafting large volume and high dollar value agreements preferred;
Strong communication, analytical, teamwork and time management skills
Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and the Commercial Payor, Medicare Part D and/or Trade Account market space.
Experience in multiple aspects of the Managed Markets, Legal, and Government Pricing
Knowledge of current pricing and rebating practices and ability to implement these practices
Ability to present complex information clearly and confidently
