SR Analyst - Contracting

  • Provide technical and analytical support for commercial (payor or trade accounts) contracts including:

  • Drafting and editing contract documents

  • Negotiating terms and conditions with external customers

  • Managing contract compliance

  • Draft business exceptions from initial request through approval and to resulting contract amendment or notification

  • Resolving internal/external customer issues and concerns

  • Manage all contract administration for assigned contracts including:

  • Documenting portfolio requirements for accurate establishment of the contract terms in the rebate processing system (payor accounts) or managing pricing system maintenance/set up and price changes (trade accounts)

  • Ensuring all product and price notifications are communicated on a timely basis

  • Partner with finance, credit and collections and customer service to resolve pricing issues or rebate issues

  • Create ad hoc analysis for field sales teams for customer purchase pattern history to review contract compliance

  • Works cross functionally with Managed Markets, Legal, and Finance to ensure business alignment of opportunities and risks of to drive profitable growth.

  • Act as subject matter expert and provide cross-functional training on contract operations and contract language interpretation

  • Provide financial/business analytical support to pricing and legal initiatives that enforce contract compliance


  • Provide a high level of contracting support including drafting and editing contract documents, executing contract documents, managing deadlines relative to contract expirations and post contract evaluation for commercial payor, Medicare Part D and/or trade accounts to achieve favorable economic and/or strategic terms

  • Independently interact with Legal, Managed Markets and external customers to discuss business issues to ensure that business deals meet or exceed the requirements of the corporation and the department

  • Interprets and translates business case requirements into contract language, predicts potential customer concerns, negotiates contract language with external customers and translates such information to ensure accurate contract and pricing establishment and rebate calculations

  • Ensures that business cases, contract documents and business exceptions are properly catalogued and stored to ensure secure archiving and seamless support in preparation of audits

  • Supports internal/external audits by preparing and providing the necessary documentation

  • Assists with the contract implementation of modified strategies, new product launch activities and special projects

  • Identifies, recommends and implements opportunities for process efficiencies including collaboration with Rebate, Chargeback and Pricing Analysts to drive increased efficiencies

  • Ability to build strong partnerships and drive role clarity with other interfacing Takeda functions, including but not limited to Finance, Internal Audit, Legal, Regulatory, other Compliance functions as applicable.

  • Ability to understand Takeda's diverse product portfolio (Gen Med, Specialty and Plasma) and ensure compliant practices across the managed markets, C&P, Controller and Finance organization.

  • Effectively interact with staff and management from all functional areas as well as with key customers across Managed Markets, USBU Finance, Legal and Audit

  • Ability to implement change that will enhance the overall effectiveness of the USBU Finance C&P and Controller organizations


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required

  • Masters degree preferred.

  • 5 years of business experience

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in one or more of the following areas: Marketing, Pricing, Contracts, Sales, or Finance in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry

  • Experience with SAP and Model N software

  • Experience in drafting large volume and high dollar value agreements preferred;

  • Strong communication, analytical, teamwork and time management skills

  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and the Commercial Payor, Medicare Part D and/or Trade Account market space.

  • Experience in multiple aspects of the Managed Markets, Legal, and Government Pricing

  • Knowledge of current pricing and rebating practices and ability to implement these practices

  • Ability to present complex information clearly and confidently

BASIC FUNCTIONS: Responsible for the successful planning, implementation and execution of contracted activities. Assures the accurate transfer of contracts from proposal through project completion. Functionally responsible for all team members throughout the duration of each clinical trial. Assures clear client communication, process documentation, and compliance with Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and procedures set forth by IQVIA Biotech and sponsors. Supports the department director in development of functional training, mentoring, and definition of standards and execution of department goals including process improvement. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for all activities related to implementation of clinical studies including: * Manages projects of full scope regional and global projects. Responsible for project team leadership * Responsible for building and maintaining positive client relationships * Ability to negotiate with clients to assure IQVIA Biotech's operational processes are maintained, projects are done within scope * Reviewing and identifying project study trends and proactively responding to client and respective team members * Developing appropriate early warning systems of potential obstacles to the successful completion of the projects; analyzes information and develops innovative solutions to challenges * Identifying, define, document training requirements in LMS systems and assure project level compliance with study specific training requirements * Responsible for change management on all assigned projects * Responsible for assuring projects assigned are run according to SOPs and WP as refined in the contract * Responsible for assuring project timelines are met as per contract * Responsible for identifying processes which need updating and documenting that to the direct line manager or divisional lead * Responsible for maintaining client relationships for all assigned work, keeping all project reporting current, and assuring executive management is aware * In conjunction with management, assists with developing, documenting, and updating internal processes and processes required for consistency across programs such as SOPs, working practices, and related quality assurance forms. * Provide other project support to Managers, as assigned * Oversee delegation of support staff activities, as necessary * Assists in the development and delivery of capability and proposal defense presentations to prospective clients * Supports Contracts and Proposals with final project contract execution and CIS documentation by the project team.
