Responsibilities

Role Purpose:

The Senior Analyst is a key member of the Consumer Insights team, helping the Research department answer key questions to support all areas of the business: What are the current trends across the entertainment industry? What is the state of the brand? Why do viewers connect to certain genres? How does our content resonate with viewers? Which TV shows belong on the air? What talent works best for the audience? The Senior Analyst will aid the Consumer Insights team by contributing to the design, implementation and analysis of custom studies around the Lifestyle portfolio's brands, programming, and audience. This is a role that will report to the Senior Manager, Consumer Insights.

Responsibilities:

  • Help design and execute early stage concept and development tests, series maintenance studies, marketing positioning tests, talent evaluations, brand research, etc. via both qualitative and quantitative research methods

  • Coordinate the relationship with third-party research vendors/partners, keeping track of key project details such as timing, recruitment of respondents, survey programming, and deliverables

  • Collaborate with the team to draft and edit questionnaires, recruitment screeners and full/topline reports and presentations

  • Help manage our online research panel, including checking data quality and optimizing recruitment efforts

  • Stay abreast of television and research industry news, trends and best practices

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher

  • 2+ years of professional experience in a research or research adjacent role (media research experience at a broadcast or cable network, streaming service, agency or vendor is a plus)

  • Knowledge of a range of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail

  • Interest in content strategy and storytelling

  • Able to understand and use data to identify and articulate clear stories, insights, and recommendations

  • Inherent curiosity, empathy, and enthusiasm

  • Interest in the Media & Entertainment business

  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong quantitative skills, including both analytical abilities as well as familiarity with advanced analysis tools (SPSS, Tableau, Python)
  • Familiarity with TV, VOD, online and other audience measurement systems (e.g. Nielsen, Rentrak, Omniture, etc.)
  • Interest in relevant genres (Reality Television, True Crime, Live Events)
  • Experience with kids research

Responsibilities will include: * Identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets from multiple sources * Acquiring data from primary and/or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems * Creating and maintaining weekly/quarterly trend reports that combine transactional, behavioral and third party data * Performing ad hoc analysis to diagnose trends in data and explain patterns in customer behavior * Providing data-driven insights to growth team with a focus on optimizing revenue and increasing customer retention * Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings About You: * 2-4 years of experience in data analytics, consulting, or similar quantitative role * Experience with large datasets, statistical analyses and data visualization * Strong SQL and Python skills and exceptional proficiency with BI tools (e.g, Tableau, Looker) * Strong understanding of customer behavior, user segmentation, and funnel optimization * BA/BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics Things we value: * Curiosity.
