ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand (trends, key players in value chain, customers etc) to come up with growth objectives, plans to achieve that objective and lead teams (PM, PMM, Ecosystem, Sales) to support that business objective

  • Roll up and track P&L for while managing the risks and dependencies to achieve revenue targets

  • Perform and consolidate market research, account level TAM/SAM and competitive analysis

  • Lead interlock with internal teams on financial plans and TAM models

  • Work with Business Execution teams to track and manage business to financial plans

  • Prepare and present business updates and analysis to senior management

  • Bottoms up demand forecasting based on Sales inputs

  • Support segment pricing with analysis and competitor information

  • Collaborate with Product Marketing on pipeline management, product roadmap and AVL

REQUIRED:

  • BA/BS Pref MBA -- Business, engineering, economics, or related field

  • 2-5 years of experience; semiconductor (business or product management) or

  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills and customer presence

  • Critical thinker -- ability to look at data and be able to identify the big picture

  • Highly motivated, passionate about own work and for the success of the company

  • Demonstrated success in building strong relationships internally and externally

  • Strong Excel skills: data collection, management, and complex modeling

  • Ability to travel (domestic and international)

Position Summary: Nanometrics is seeking a high-energy individual that can lead the product marketing efforts for our suite of nanometrics products including the flagship semiconductor metrology product line. This position shall report directly into the VP/GM of the Automated Metrology Business Unit and shall be based out of our Milpitas, California campus. Assigned to one of the highest growth product groups globally, this person will be a critical executive within the organization. This role will drive marketing and account penetration strategies working closely with customers and sales organization. As the key owner of the product, this individual will have a high degree of internal leverage through matrixed teams spanning operations, sales, product development, manufacturing, and technical support. The external impact of this executive will further solidify nanometrics' leadership position in the industry. Responsibilities: A successful candidate for this role shall be responsible for leading global product adoption through customer engagement and roll-out strategies. The candidate shall be expected to work closely Engineering and Product Marketing partners to develop and execute on a multi-year business plan for Nano's products and applications roadmaps aligned to adjacent semiconductor markets. Key responsibilities for this role include: * Develop a comprehensive understanding of key customer requirements in semiconductor markets (memory, logic) as well as emerging process control challenges, requirements, and opportunities * Perform market validation of these adjacent segments, assessment of market sizing (SAM), develop the business case clearly articulating the benefit to nanometrics * Develop a clear understanding of current served and unserved metrology opportunities * Define product roadmaps that ensure product line will achieve competitive advantage throughout the product life cycle * Formulate and drive clear go-to-market strategies of product offerings for key customers including new product introduction * Support the worldwide sales group through effective penetration and adoption strategies, value pricing, and timely response to customer requirements * Identify opportunities to leverage installed base through the comprehensive upgrade and obsolescence strategies * This role will be responsible for creating the sales collateral and value proposition to win * Work with the organization's cross-functional teams to roll-out critical products through all aspects of the PLC process * Configurations – Be the owner in defining, validating and maintaining appropriate product configurations and options. * Identification of opportunities early in the business cycle, market timing and market windows. Assessment of where we can win is critical * Enable process for comprehensive competitive analysis including Red Teams, SWOTs, etc. Work closely with Engineering, and Product Applications teams to develop a common understanding of environment/situation * Ensures the sales teams are equipped to win against the competition including delivering training programs and product collateral * In short, this person will be responsible for the commercial success of their product/s and be highly effective with key stakeholders across the organization Experience and Background: * Demonstrated successes in product development and marketing strategies in the semiconductor capital equipment industry. Prior experience with semiconductor capital equipment including working knowledge of semiconductor processes, metrology and/or inspection products is a must * Demonstrated experience in bringing products to market successfully * Experience in presenting the business to the Executive team and getting their buy-in is important * Extraordinary ability to articulate via written, visual and oral means a product's value, competitive differentiation, and benefit to the customer * Bachelors or Masters in Engineering or Sciences; Ph.D. or MBA is a strong plus. * >10 years of experience in product marketing and applications Must have leadership skills: The candidate shall have demonstrated key successes in one or more of the following areas: * Critical problem solver * Demonstrated experience in leading organizations while influencing a culture of cross-functional collaboration * Demonstrated leadership in influencing and managing change * Strong motivation to win with a can-do attitude * Ability to apply a P&L perspective to strategies, execution plans, and decision-making Other Requirements: Candidate must demonstrate flexibility with travel to Nanometrics' key customer locations, as required.
