The Office of MedTech Strategy (OMTS) team shapes and evolves the JJMT strategy through a deep understanding of our end markets, the competitive landscape, and the drivers of our businesses. We uncover competitive & market insights that inform critical decision-making, enabling J&J MedTech to grow market share, accelerate sales, and optimize our portfolio.
The Senior Analyst, Competitive Market Insights is a critical role within the OMTS team, developing business performance measurements in the context of the broader MedTech competitive landscape. In collaboration with the broader OMTS team, this individual will partner with stakeholders across the MedTech business units, drawing upon key insights to enable data-driven decision making.
As a member of this team, the Senior Analyst will analyze competitor earnings reports and industry conferences, while also delivering key insights through competitive sales reports, competitive P&L benchmarking, and external environmental landscape assessments. This individual will also cross-develop with the Financial Planning & Forecasting team, providing ad hoc support during peak forecasting seasons.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Market Insights & Intelligence Optimization
Conduct research activities designed to assess the impact of the external environment on JJMT business
Distill data and complex concepts into impactful insights for JJMT, leveraging a broad range of data sources, tools/technology and subject matter experts
Cultivate visualization capabilities, internally and with key business partners
Strategic Planning & Financial Acumen
Capture competitor insights through quarterly earnings briefings
Generate quarterly Competitive Sales Reports, providing performance benchmarking insights to senior leadership
Maintain key competitor benchmarking data used in strategic analyses, financial reviews, and investment planning
Ensure data integrity and identify anomalies or outliers to ensure the most accurate representation of the market
Create high-impact presentations tailored for specific audiences, including executive leadership
Enhance clarity, harmonization, and impact of business performance measurement and reporting versus competition
Engage with key business unit, regional, and platform stakeholders to continue to gain momentum on the insights and analytics capabilities
Process & Project Management
Execute high-impact projects to generate integrated marketplace and competitor insights
Ensure alignment to enterprise and sector timelines and templates
