As the Senior Analyst, Budget and Reimbursement for Catholic Medical Center (CMC), you are a meticulous finance professional with a passion for healthcare and a keen eye for detail. Your background in accounting, finance, or health administration has equipped you with the skills needed to navigate the complexities of third-party reimbursement and budget preparation in a hospital setting. With five to seven years of experience, you're adept at working independently while effectively collaborating with diverse teams. Your strong analytical abilities and familiarity with federal and state regulations make you an invaluable asset to our team.

This is a fully benefitted exempt full time position, Monday through Friday (40 hours/week)

What You'll Do:

As a key member of the finance team at Catholic Medical Center, you will:

  • Cost Reporting: Ensure the timely and accurate filing of Medicare/Medicaid/Tricare/Martin's Point cost reports, adhering to federal and state regulations. This includes completing Wage Index Reviews, Occupational Mix Surveys, and preparing bad debt and DSH logs.

  • Monthly Financial Close: Assist in the preparation of monthly contractual allowances, revenue analysis, bad debt, free care, AR changes, and other essential analytics to support month-end closing.

  • Budget Development: Aid in the development of operating and capital budgets, including net patient revenue computations, contractual allowances, and expense preparations for salaries and non-salaries.

  • Variance Analysis: Investigate and prepare budget variance reports, including FTE and non-salary variances, on a monthly basis.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with hospital directors, Decision Support, Financial Reporting, and Managed Care Contracting staff on various ad-hoc analyses.

  • Position Control: Assist in maintaining position control by collaborating with Human Resources, Payroll, and Directors to ensure accuracy.

  • Third-Party Settlements: Maintain schedules to support third-party settlements for managed care and federal programs, and provide necessary schedules to auditors.

  • EPSI Utilization: Utilize EPSI to access data for expected reimbursement and other monthly reports.

  • Reimbursement Monitoring: Stay updated on state and federal reimbursement developments, understand all third-party contract terms, and bring reimbursement issues/opportunities to the director's attention.

  • Payment Validation: Work with Managed Care staff to validate payments from third-party payers, ensuring they conform to contract terms.

  • Reporting: Calculate Medicare blended rates, complete annual NHHA reporting, and maintain Met Tax reporting.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Health Administration; MBA or Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) preferred.

  • 5-7 years of experience with third-party reimbursement in a hospital setting.

  • Proficiency in cost reporting and budget preparation.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Familiarity with financial reporting software, specifically EPSI, is desirable.
