Principal Accountabilities (The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations.): * Prepare price quotations on inbound international freight

  • Rate and route international traffic

  • Follow up with customers to resolve inquires

  • Prepare, route, and cut air bills and manifests

  • Correct billings and issue debit and credit memos for customers

  • Arrange for pick up and movement of freight to gateways

  • Expedite inbound import traffic to facilitate customs clearance

  • Initiate and maintain customer master profiles in order to have correct information on hand in order to offer consistent service.

  • Maintain close liaison with the [1] U.S. Customs Service and for various specialized U.S. [2] Customs clearance requirements.

  • Key in [3] U.S. Customs entry line items into the Import CHB Computer System and submit entry to customs.

  • Communicating information and instructions to/from vendors.

  • Researching and resolving operational problems.

  • Review all documents, contact all first-time customers, perform credit checks, and handle other tasks as needed. Maintain contact with the airlines, trucking companies and any agents that will be handling the freight to ensure shipper and consignees are aware of any problems.</p></li><li><p>Ensure service completion and provide proof of delivery.</p></li><li><p>Manage customer support by responding to and handling all daily customer service requests. Notify customers of any delays in shipping and dispatching points. Prepare and assist with quotes for customers.</p></li><li><p>Perform various data management tasks - enter shipment data in system; prepare rates and invoice House Air Way Bills; run sales reports, maintain and file reports.</p></li><li><p>Process pick-up requests and enter data in the system.</p></li></ul><p>WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?</p><ul><li><p>Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED; Two to three years related experience. Two to four years industry experience, preferred.</p></li><li><p>Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications. <br><br> Accurate typing skills and/or data entry skills. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of U.S. currency, weight, volume and distance measurements.</p></li><li><p>Characteristics: Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine correspondence. <br><br> Responds promptly and professionally to customer needs.
