We are seeking a Senior AI/ML Developer who wants to bring expertise across the AI/ML space to the organization. You will be responsible for acting as a subject matter expert (SME) across the organization and working with dev teams to teach them how to use AI technologies. You will help build POC applications to help showcase capabilities and highlight AI/ML development best practices. You will be spearheading our effort at building a copilot framework for our 40+ products. You will also be working with other talented and driven individuals and have the opportunity to mentor, collaborate, and share your skills and knowledge as well as lead and help shape the future of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at ECI. You will be reporting to the Corporate VP of Global Research and Development.

Qualifications:

• 5-7+ years of experience in software development, with 3+ years of experience related to AI/ML

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related field.

• Broad expertise and experience with ML, deep learning, LLMs, and modern AI trends.

• Demonstrated experience in modern AI/ML technologies and proven ability to architect and build AI pipelines, platforms, or similar infrastructure at enterprise scale.

• Proven ability to integrate with data engineering platforms and utilize/build modern DevOps/MLOps processes.

• Development experience with AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, Microsoft CNTK, scikit, Keras, Caffe, Gluon, Torch.

• Familiarity with GenAI technology stack, including frameworks for prompt engineering, guardrails for GenAI applications, and LLM fine-tuning

• Experience working with Vector DBs and other data infrastructure required to efficiently support Generative AI training pipelines and production applications.

• Experience training and maintaining large language models.

• Experience with production-grade development, integration, and support.

• Experience and familiarity presenting to technical and business audiences.

Responsibilities:

• Lead development of the AI/ML effort, focusing on modern, scalable, and robust design principles.

• Provide technical leadership in AI system design, overseeing the entire AI/ML lifecycle.

• Partner with cross functional business and technology teams to understand business landscape and drive AI opportunities.

• Design, develop, monitor, and scale AI components, APIs, and loosely coupled applications and integrate these with highly-available channels and systems.

• Implement and uphold modern software design principles, ensuring best practices in CI/CD, MLOps, and infrastructure-as-code.

• Proactively ensure the security and integrity of the AI services, data, and models, and take part in security and privacy design reviews.

• Conduct research to stay ahead of the latest developments in AI, communicate learnings to the team, and evaluate / recommend new technologies for the platform.

• This role will require someone adept at being the subject matter expert while simultaneously being humble and approachable so that you can effectively share that knowledge with others.

• The most successful candidate will be passionate about AI and keeping abreast of changes and advancements in the AI landscape because you love it, not because it is a job requirement.

• As a SME working in a center of excellence model, the right person for this role will need to be enthusiastic about helping others.

• You will need to be able to context switch and should enjoy a myriad of work types that include mentoring, training, writing code for POCs, doing research on emerging technology, evaluating vendors, etc. Expect a 60/40 split between development and the tasks outlined above.

• We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and driven. We like to hire amazing people and then get out of the way. There will be limited oversight and management of this role, so we need a Sr. level person who thrives with that autonomy and is adept at keeping the rest of the organization in the loop on status and outcomes being delivered.
