The Senior Advisor Lean Healthcare is an expert in continuous improvement (CI) and has had demonstrated success leading highly complex projects to build organization-wide capabilities in lean, facilitating multidisciplinary problem solving teams and coaching key personnel and small groups in making the personal transformation needed to adopt CI thinking and behaviors. They will join a successful small consulting team environment that is outreach/mission focused rather than driven to maximize profit. As such this position affords the flexibility to innovate and a unique opportunity to have impact on improving how healthcare is delivered at significant scale.

The Senior Advisor must be skilled in finding practical solutions to assist clients to meet goals and objectives. More specifically, the successful candidate will be skilled in meeting operational, clinical and financial objectives of healthcare providers (e.g. physicians, clinics, hospitals). They are expected to provide input into strategic program development, generating innovative ideas for new offerings, and must be able to generate ongoing and new sales. This position will work in close collaboration with leadership to develop new service offerings.

The new service offerings under development include a comprehensive lean transformation program, agile organizational and behavior change services, an innovative six-sigma data science program and the industry's first badge-based lean certification program that makes use of a flipped classroom and micro-learning techniques.

This position will report directly to a Principal within Purdue Healthcare Advisors (PHA).

More generally, this position supports PHA in their mission to improve healthcare quality, safety and efficiency through applying the principles of engineering, science and management. PHA serves a variety of healthcare related organizations including but not limited to healthcare providers, hospitals, health systems and public health. PHA has three service lines; Process Improvement, Quality Services and Security as well as general healthcare consulting services.

Remote work from home is available for this position, but travel to the office located in West Lafayette, Indiana is required based on business need.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Healthcare, Science, Technology or other related field

  • Lean Silver Certification or other advanced- level lean/CI certification (Shingo, Toyota Production System, or others)

  • Five years of progressive professional experience in Lean, continuous improvement, process improvement or service design/innovation work

  • Three years working in a healthcare or non-manufacturing field.

  • Experience leading complex projects, facilitating multidisciplinary teams, and coaching key personnel and small groups

  • Advanced skills in training, learning facilitation and cross-functional team facilitation; rapid improvement or Kaizen events

  • Demonstrated ability to use multiple lean tools and solutions (e.g. value stream mapping/analysis, Kaizen, A3, PDCA, 5S, Gemba walks, Takt time, Kamishibai boards, LMS, root cause problem solving, Kanban, SMED, flow cells) to facilitate team discovery, problem solving, and CI

  • Advanced knowledge of the philosophy, principles, and ideal behaviors that guide lean thinking

  • Advanced knowledge of at least one process improvement/management methodology beyond lean (e.g. six-sigma, theory of constraints, design thinking, process simulation, re-engineering)

  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare practices, healthcare systems, and regulations in patient safety and healthcare quality

  • Advanced knowledge of the healthcare industry's current initiatives; Payment Reform, ACO's, PCMH, Meaningful Use, Security

  • Successful project management, consulting, and client development skills

  • Developed network of healthcare industry contacts

  • Strong capability to lead teams, mentor and coach others, and work effectively to develop and maintain cooperative, constructive relationships with diverse groups of clients and peers

  • Ability to work independently with little supervision and in a dynamic team environment

  • Strict adherence to Purdue confidentiality policies

  • Valid US or Canadian driver's license and ability to travel up to 75% of the time

Preferred:

  • Master's degree

  • Lean Gold certification

  • Experience building and supporting online communities of practice

  • Experience facilitating organizational learning, culture change, and capability building efforts

  • Skilled at developing advisory content; white papers, online training and briefings

  • A valid US or Canadian driver's license and ability to travel up to 75% of the time (in and out-of-state)

As Managing Advisor - IT Security, you will be part of a well-established team of information assurance professionals charged to consult, educate, train and guide healthcare clinics and hospitals facilities throughout the state of Indiana in a variety of information security related projects. Last year alone, we were on-site at more than 600 Indiana healthcare facilities, providing risk assessments, conducting information security testing, performing configuration audits, fostering security awareness training and other information assurance activities. In alignment with the Technical Assistance Program and the Office of Corporate and Global Partnerships, the PHA IT Security team also provides a wide range of cybersecurity consulting and education activities to the public sector, university partners, and industry throughout the state of Indiana and beyond. Our team of security professionals come from a wide range of educational and technology backgrounds that all share the same goal of improving information security practices across the state of Indiana. The ideal Managing Advisor - IT Security candidate will have a strong grasp of IT security best practices, be able to assess gaps in cybersecurity operations in a variety of information technology environments and be able to provide clear, pragmatic advice in the form of detailed written and oral reports & presentations. As part of our dynamic team the Managing Advisor - IT Security will respond to client demand for a variety of services that will vary day-to-day. The successful candidate must be able to adapt quickly to the new environments and move seamlessly between unique functions. This position may focus on any number of services and tasks assigned by the senior advisor. Required: * Bachelor's degree in a computer or information systems related field. * Five or more years working in an operational information technology security role or related field and experience in information and security technology with a preference for experience in network security, incident response, and security assessment. * In lieu of a degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience. * At least one IT security management related certification such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC. * Experience with security hardware (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems, SIEM) a must.
