Introduction:

We are seeking a Sr. Advanced Process Controls (APC) Engineer to join our Advanced Process Controls team. You will be responsible for the implementation of APC systems in the North American Region. Which involves a very good understanding of both the clients' process and of advanced process control and vision technology. Your role plays a crucial part with the customers, during the implementation of the contracts, and must be able to establish a good and mastered communication with customers.

This position is mainly located in Salt Lake City, UT or Mesa, AZ. However, it involves up to 50% of annual travel both domestic and international.

Team you belong to:

You will join a team of Advanced Process Controls Engineers dedicated to Metso's APC Technology.

The members in our team are in different parts globally.

What you'll do:

• Monitor APC systems in his/her dedicated area from his/her office, via remote computer access to the client's sites.

• Runs training courses for customers as necessary.

• Works in office and at customer's site to design, configure, install and commission APC systems hosted by the software.

• Design, configure and test design systems and sound analysis systems, and at customers 'sites to install and commission the systems.

• Coordinates with other APC Engineers from the global APC team on the projects.

• Project management duties (forecast, organization, planning, communication, reporting, invoicing).

• Communication with customers on the projects where you are the Project Manager.

• Writes reports, project documentation and participates to writing product documentation.

Who you are:

• Bachelor's, master's degree or PhD in Metallurgy, Metallurgical engineering, Mineral processing, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering/Process Control, or related field.

• Technical experience in mineral processing and process control with a minimum of 8 years of mineral processing or mineral processing advanced process control experience.

• Deep knowledge of and experience with programming control logic using the Metso OCS and OCS-4D programming tools (Preferable)

• Very good knowledge of computer configuration and use.

• Technical Expertise in each of the following:

• Dynamic Constraint Control as it applies to Advanced Process Control of Mineral processing.

• Extensive knowledge of Crisp and Fuzzy logic programming.

VisioFroth:

camera set up and commissioning

Froth velocity control

VisioRock:

Camera set up

programming and use in process control

VisioTruck Set up and commissioning:

Bassler Camera Set up

AudioMill:

Set up and

use of impacts or sound in control of SAG mills

Basic ideas of OPC communications

Optimizing control concepts for:

Crushing

Grinding

Flotation

Dewatering
