Job Posting TitleSenior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer - Test
The ChallengeThis GE Appliances Senior AME role will be a critical member of the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) Test and Controls (T&C) team that owns engineering standards and is the full project lifecycle owner for test & controls equipment for the company across many large appliance manufacturing plants. T&C AME's ensure all equipment is compliant and executed within deliverables. This AME role will be assigned to NPI programs and/ or Run The Plant (RTP) projects to drive cost out and improve productivity. The T&E AME is a key liaison between project, plant operation and manufacturing teams. Relocation assistance is provided to qualified candidates.
What you will Do
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide electrical, instrumentation and test system expertise to deliver commercial product designs supporting manufacturing testing and the enterprise test equipment needed to deliver outstanding quality products to our customers.
Continued development of test system distributed software (C#, Java, C++) with reporting database functionalities (AWS, SQL).
Investigate new testing and quality processes within appliance manufacturing and propose to quality and business leaders.
Experience managing capital equipment procurement projects: Including specification development, supplier selection, technical reviews, installation and qualification for test and controls equipment.
Use of T&C expertise earned in short cycle, high volume manufacturing plants
Experience with Lean manufacturing principles
Ability to communicate, lead and work within in large cross-functional teams, at multiple levels in the organization and with suppliers and vendors
What you need to Succeed
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related discipline OR equivalent hands on expertise in electrical, instrumentation and test system
3+ years hands on Project Management & relevant test or controls engineering experience with electrical, instrumented manufacturing equipment and processes
Computer literate and skilled in MS Office, Minitab, SQL, C# and Windows including network functions
BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
Experience with assembly line design, automation and customized fabrication equipment and manufacturing processes
Working knowledge of software programming (Java, C++,VB) and distributed architectural structures (server, client, security, reporting)
Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) Certification or equivalent
Experienced in designing and sustaining AWS, SQL or Oracle databases
Prior NPI program experience
Six Sigma Certification
Proficient in MS Office, MS Scheduler (or equivalent) and AutoCAD
