The Senior Admissions Advisor is responsible for coordinating daily visitation programming and supervising student tour guides and student interns. This position oversees and manages the planning, organization, and execution of the university's daily visitation programs. It also provides comprehensive support for all other Admissions programming, including Open House events. This position plays a crucial role in evaluating first-year student applications, contributing to the diverse student body, and enhancing the university's recruitment efforts.

Major Responsibilities
Student Visitation Programs
Coordinate on-campus events, events away from campus, group visits, and virtual programs
Plan, organize, and execute daily events such as campus tours, information sessions, and mini-open houses to engage prospective students and their families
Assist with coordination and logistical aspects of major prospective student campus events, such as Admitted Student Open House and others
Coordinate events and receptions for high school guidance counselors
Collaborate with admissions staff to execute all daily visitation programs
Coordinate the logistics for off-campus visits
Deliver group presentations during Information Sessions, Open Houses, Mini-Open house programs, virtual events, and bus trips
Meet with prospective students and their families
Student Tour Guide and Intern Supervision
Recruit and hire student tour guides and interns
Oversee the scheduling and daily activities of student tour guides and interns, ensuring adequate coverage for all campus tours and events
Design and implement comprehensive training programs, focusing on communication skills, university knowledge, and tour presentation techniques
Provide ongoing support and mentorship, fostering a positive and engaging work environment and encouraging professional growth and development
Admissions and Scholarship Application Review
Evaluate and make decisions on first-year student applications for admission
Collaborate with committee members to ensure fair and consistent evaluation standard
Respond to and reach out to prospective students via phone, email and other communication platforms
Review and assess applicants for endowed scholarships as a member of the Scholarship Committee
Social Media Marketing
Create and curate engaging content on various social media platforms
Promote daily admissions events
Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Communications and Marketing
Enhance university's brand through social media presence
Assist with, facilitate, and monitor the daily chat software (currently Pure Chat
Recruitment Travel Events
Represent SUNY Cortland at recruitment events, such as college fairs, school visits, and community events
Engage with prospective students, parents, educators, and stakeholders
Functional and Supervisory Relationships
Reports to the Director of Admissions.
Works closely with Admissions Office staff, Faculty, and other administrative offices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree.
A minimum of 2 years of professional higher education experience or minimum of 2 years of experience in sales, marketing, communications or customer service.
Experience in reviewing admissions applications or similar such as scholarship application review, job application review, grant or fellowship application review.
A valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree.
Experience supervising, coaching, or leading individuals in various settings.
Previous experience with SLATE or another customer service management software.
Experience in coordinating or supporting prospective student events.
