What we want

The Senior Administrative Coordinator II performs advanced professional assistance work for the Director and Senior Associate Director of Student Life. A successful candidate will have experience coordinating high-level administrative meetings and handling highly confidential critical academic and/or administrative matters. This individual will have experience with customer service and will assist the full-time and student staff assist students, families and campus community members connect with the appropriate resources and support.

What you need to know

Starting Salary: $50,000 - $53,000/Annually (Commensurate based on hire's experience).

Position Details: Employee will supervise Administrative Coordinator. Evening and weekend work and/or travel may be required.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Seven years of related experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others

  • Interpersonal and communication skills

  • Planning and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience coordinating multiple calendars and scheduling meetings

Essential Duties/Tasks:

  • Administrative Support
  • Provide direct support to Director and Senior Associate Director of Student Life. Use initiative and independent judgment to relieve these staff members of routine tasks and administrative matters: correspondence such as letters, memos, forms, manuscripts, reports, tables; calendar management, schedule appointments and meetings; coordinate travel arrangements. In addition, this position coordinates administrative support for the following: Meetings including creating agendas, sending meeting reminders, and taking minutes. Gathering information in support of department's administrators. Special activities or projects; plan and provide administrative support for events, meetings, special functions. Resolution of complex, highly sensitive and confidential administrative matters. Preparing presentations and communication materials. Serves as secondary coverage for Director's Suite front desk coverage when needed.
  • Supervision
  • Responsible for the hiring, supervision and evaluation of Administrative Coordinator I. Assists with training of student assistants supervised by the Administrative Coordinator I.
  • Office Coordination
  • Develop, implement and evaluate office procedures. Maintain office supplies and equipment. Prepare documentation for financial management system records; prepare Purchase Order/Payment Authorization forms for items purchased by the Director's Office. Maintain Student Life filing system and records retention. Maintain correspondence of departmental mail/email.
  • General
  • Assist in the total development of the Division of Student Affairs through participation on University, Division and Department committees and task forces. Advance the philosophy of multiculturalism and actively promote this in staffing, programming and student leadership. Evening and weekend work and/or travel may be required. Performs other duties as assigned.
