Full-time position available with the Civil Rights and Equal Opportunity Department, Economic Equity and Inclusion Division, located at 414 E 12th St.

Salary Range: $20.48-$30.71/hour

Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00a.m.-5:00p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Performs initial intake and assignment duties for goal requests and waivers.

  • Utilizes plan approvals, requests for modifications and project closeouts and monitors these processes using City email system and E-Builder databases.

  • Maintains the tracking spreadsheets for goal requests, utilization plan approvals, requests for modifications and project closeouts.

  • Confers with internal CREO staff and City department staff in-person, by phone or by email regarding Goal requests, CUPs, RFMs, and closeouts.

  • Enters approved 1A goal projects into B2G database.

  • Performs the "Lock-In" process for contracts that have MWBE/DBE goals, SLBE and zero goal contracts.

  • Sends award letters to contractors using B2G database.

  • Enters other contracts and associated documents into B2G database.

  • Prepares monthly CUP reports.

  • Maintains hard copy and electronic files for MBE/WBE goals, SLBEs, CUPs, RFMs, and project closeouts.

  • Suggests resolutions for operational inefficiencies which should be remedied.

  • Sees to the fulfillment of administrative detail; performs special assignments and submits reports based on such assignments; consults Division Manager/Department Director on matters of general policy.

  • Studies and develops revised procedures for routine activities.

  • Receives difficult complaints.

  • Offers information to interested persons and groups (Sunshine Law requests).

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience to include professional experience in the development and/or operation of administrative systems, programs, policies and practice.

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.

Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
