In this role, you will work independently, on team-based projects within the department, and as part of cross-functional teams. A successful candidate will have at least 2 years of progressive experience in the life insurance industry with a focus on insurance product reporting and valuation. Up to 50% of the role will entail work with SQL and Python to generate recurring and ad-hoc reporting for use in the company's valuation, profitability analysis and sales management. As an Actuarial Services team member, you will be responsible for:
Completing monthly financial reporting responsibilities on individual and group life and annuity business
Performing regular and ad-hoc data analysis to support profitable sales growth.
Compiling new business and inforce experience analysis
As well as Support:
New product development and system implementations
Internal and external financial audits
Peer review of other department members' work product
This position will also support other functional areas to complete risk management initiatives, capital management activities and sales administration requests.

Requirements
Four-year college degree preferably in mathematics, actuarial science or a related field.
Minimum completion of two actuarial examinations with intention to secure SOA designation(s) preferred.
Two or more years of life insurance experience in the actuarial department or other technical area.
A strong understanding of insurance product reserving and valuation.
Must be proficient in data management with SQL and Python experience strongly preferred.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software applications particularly Excel.
Experience with PowerBI a plus.

Exceptional organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to follow through and accomplish results with minimum supervision.
Must be able to use data available in new and creative ways to understand and learn about the characteristics of our customers, consumers, and products.
Demonstrated an ability to learn new software applications and to understand how they work.
Be able to "deconstruct" calculations to understand the exact nature of how something is done in a software package and evaluate inconsistencies between software packages.
Must have strong documentation skills, and be responsible for adhering to relevant Actuarial Standards of Practice
Must be able to work independently and also in a team-based environment. Must be willing to push oneself to find answers independently, but also be willing to seek help from peers/experts when stuck.
Candidate must be flexible to accommodate changing department and corporate priorities.
Must have or develop presentation skills to communicate results of work completed to multiple audiences (actuarial peers, Sales leadership, Company Leadership, etc.)
