Are you looking for a fantastic career at Aqua? We have a great opportunity for a Senior Acquisitions Lead. This role is under the direction of the Municipal Acquisition Integrations, Rates, and CIS Director will perform all aspects of Aqua municipal acquisition integrations. This position will lead the integration process through targeted closing date and monitoring of the operations processes post-closing to ensure that our customers receive an accurate and timely bill, and to address any follow-up issues and questions. The responsibility includes implementation of project activities while working directly with the Aqua Team Leads for Aqua Customer Operations (ACO), Meter Reading, Field Operations, State/Division Area Managers, IT Networking Leads, Seller's Financial and Operations Managers, and vendors throughout the conversion process to ensure overall project coordination.

This position will manage Banner (Customer Information System CIS) conversion requirements analysis, data requests and transfers, data mapping, data validation, source data clean-up, interface requirements definition, and data conversion coding. Project work also includes process integration work to fold these acquisitions into the existing Aqua/Banner customer service standard procedures and issues tracking, communication and resolution. Periodic new systems program/development and maintenance programming are required. Tasks include systems planning, requirements definition, design, programming, testing, and documentation. Periodic support of Customer Service/Banner related projects is also required. These duties are centered on the Banner Customer Information System and related Oracle database.


  • Manage projects and provide team leadership in the areas of acquisition integration / divestiture conversion programming, data validation, testing, implementation, documentation and post-conversion billing verification and "Help Desk" support.

  • Utilizing the acquisition playbook develop and implement a conversion plan that is specific to the requirements of each acquisition / divestiture.

  • Utilizing the acquisition playbook provide for regular review and prioritization of project related tasks with the project team and Aqua state leadership.

  • Chair regular meetings with (and coordinate) ACO Team Leads, State/Division Leads, and outside entities throughout the conversion process to ensure overall project coordination and integration.

  • Manage and participate in the technical tasks associated with each acquisition / conversion, including legacy data analysis, CIS/Banner system requirements, business requirements, programming, validation, testing, interface definition and follow up support.

  • Communicate the technical and business requirements, issues and conversion timing to the IT Team, ACO Management, State/Division personnel, and sellers' representatives.

  • Provide periodic reporting and supporting documentation to senior management, end users and state management.

  • Participate in acquisition integration post-closing sessions (lessons learned) to review any open issues and update the acquisition playbook as needed.

  • Provide supporting analysis, database design and maintenance for the application system databases.

  • Provide development and maintenance programming as required.

  • Develop and run data query programs for research, planning, and importing activities for all new data being brought into the Aqua CIS Banner system.

  • Participate in the ongoing development of systems and programming security standards, ensuring efficiency and data integrity.

  • Provide IT organization and coordination with end-users and management to address application development needs, system specifications, hardware installation, data lines, and any other deliverables and priorities.


  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology/Computer Science, or Business Management with IT training and related experience.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in data management and data analysis related to system/data conversion work with project management lead roles.

  • M & A background is helpful.

  • Direct experience with customer service operations in the utility industry is preferred.

  • Candidate must have thorough knowledge and operational skills of a Customer Information System, preferably the Banner CIS system.

  • Candidate must have demonstrated excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Position requires ability to conduct business with customer operations and field operations internal and external associates.

  • Ability to evaluate, communicate, and prioritize business requirements to all levels of the organization.

  • Strong decision-making ability.

  • Travel required periodically facilitating work with ACO Team, State leads, seller's representatives, site visits, etc.


  • Banner/SQL experience preferred.

  • SQL, PL/SQL Developer, shell scripts (used to run PL/SQL packages and procedures), TOAD, Oracle database, Unix/Linux and other Web based processing skill-sets.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools; Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
