Position Summary

A senior level clerical position responsible for providing direct back up to the Disbursements Supervisor as well as performing all the principal duties of the Accounts Payable Specialist. The senior aspects of this position consume upwards of 50% of the Senior Accounts Payable Specialist's time.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: N/A

• License/Certifications: N/A

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of accounts payable experience in order to perform duties as back up to the Disbursements Supervisor.

• Analytical and organizational skills are necessary for applying established policies and procedures.

• The ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for reviewing, auditing, and posting of vendor invoices.

• Knowledge and experience with PCs, Microsoft Office Suite, MS Add-Ins, and computerized financial systems.

• Interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively interact with internal and external personnel as well as vendor personnel in gathering and exchanging invoice related information. The ability to work as a team member and independently as priorities change.

• The ability to read and write, understand and follow written/verbal instructions, perform noncomplex arithmetic and calculations, type at acceptable levels of speed and accuracy, and maintain log and file records as normally acquired through completion of at least high school.

• Knowledge of 1099 reporting and Maine Sales Tax is preferable.

• The ability to manage time and prioritize workload in a high volume, quick paced environment.

• Has successfully completed the probationary period of training for the senior position.
