Job Overview:
The Senior Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist role at ISN supports the organization as a whole and is an important member of our accounting operations team. They work collaboratively with ISN team members across various departments as well as with vendors and suppliers to review, verify, process, and record invoices for goods and services. The person in this role will call on their verbal and written communication skills to draft and respond to email and telephone inquiries regarding billings and payments. They will also use close attention to detail, data review, and critical thinking skills to research and resolve discrepancies. This role is integral in ensuring ISN meets our mission of being a valued partner to our customers and suppliers.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform 3-way matching, and where exceptions occur, proactively communicate with the business/suppliers to ensure a swift resolution for all parties, and an audit trail is retained.
Ability to interact and coordinate with global suppliers
Ensure proper GL coding for all AP transactions and reconcile payable ledgers
Respond to vendor escalations and resolve any discrepancies in billings and payments
Reconcile vendor statements monthly to ensure all invoices have been received and entered into the ERP.
Provide excellent customer service with suppliers and internal customers
Process requests for employee expense reimbursements as needed
Train and lead AP specialists in department policies and procedures
Process disbursements in accordance with department internal controls.
Testing and collaboration of systemic improvements as needed
Perform daily duties in accordance with company policies and procedures
Qualifications:
Education:
Minimum formal education required: High School Diploma or GED is required.
Experience:
Prior experience in an administrative or customer-facing support role
2 - 3 years of accounts payable experience in a high-volume environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook required including proficiency with data queries, sorting, and filtering
Experience with Power BI and an ERP such as MasterPack preferred
