JOB SUMMARY:

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of adapting and implementing change as well as keen problem solving skills. This position will report to the Accounts Payable Supervisor. Accounts Payable experience is required, experience within a law firm or professional services industry is preferred as is experience with Thomson Reuters Elite and Chrome River. This role requires significant interaction with managers and departments across the firm. The ideal candidate is flexible, enthusiastic, with a positive attitude and a team player who can also work independently while participating in ongoing projects within a fast paced and collaborative environment.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Reviews all domestic and foreign vendors and invoices for appropriate documentation and approvals for payment

  • Process and review invoices and employee reimbursements utilizing firm applications and ensuring that all coding is accurate and complete

  • Assist with payment of vendor invoices and reimbursements

  • Respond to internal and external inquiries

  • Assist with various firm filings such as 1099s and abandoned property

  • Ensures month end and year end close process and procedures are accurately completed

  • Provide support and training to properly on-board new employees to accounts payable processes, procedures, and systems

  • Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned

  • Use good judgment when dealing with exceptions to the firm's payment policy and informs Accounts Payable Supervisor if undefined areas in the policy are identified

  • Demonstrate organizational and problems solving skills

  • Manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and adhering to strict deadlines

  • Champion continuous improvement efforts including business process optimization

  • Communicate effectively with management and employees at all levels of the organization

  • Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive data at all times

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor Degree in Finance/Accounting

  • 4+ years of full-cycle Accounts Payable experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with Elite, Chrome River, and Global Exchange a plus
