Position Mission: Responsible for managing, leading and coordinating every aspect of tenders balance sheet reconciliations, supporting systems and business processes across Caribou, ENRGI and Bruegger's. Tenders include Operating Cash, Store Depository (900+), Credit Cards (2 Processors), Gift Cards and Stored Value Programs and Catering.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage, lead, oversee and coordinate the team of 4-6 responsible for:

  • Reconciling balance sheet accounts, including resolving all discrepancies, monthly accruals and journal entries; day-to-day troubleshooting and problem resolution

  • Functional maintenance and administration of ReconNET and Paytronix, including configuration and integration with Great Plains General Ledger

  • Review various journal entries and general ledger balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis, ensuring alignment with month-end close and high levels of accuracy to support JAB reporting requirements and GAAP compliance

  • Execute: Compile and provide interim and year-end external audit support for management

  • Generate and maintain accounting policies associated with all areas of responsibility

  • Ensure SOX and internal controls and compliance

  • Compile and provide reporting for Senior Management

  • Support cashflow and cash forecasting reporting

  • Responsible for team engagement and staff development

  • Participate in system upgrades and enhancements, special projects as required and other duties as assigned

  • Collaborate with IT and software vendors: implementation and upgrades

  • Catering; Gift Cards and Stored Value Programs; Operating Cash; Accounts Payable checks, invoices, and payments; Payroll checks

  • Cloud environment: ReconNET, Paytronix

  • Bank alignment, automation, and integrity of data and files

  • POS and Credit Card Processor alignment, automation and integrity of data and files: Aloha to PosiToch, Bank of America to Vantiv/WorldPay

  • Day-to-day trouble-shooting, data failures, and problem resolution

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, MBA or CPA and 10+ years related experience, including managing a team

  • Advanced Excel (Microsoft Suite) and ERP system (Great Plains) experience; strong technical aptitude, implementations, and enhancements

  • Strong GAAP knowledge and expertise, plus controls and compliance

  • Collaboration with others throughout the organization

  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment

  • Retail industry a plus; ReconNET and/or Paytronix experience preferred
