Newtek Technology Solutions, a subsidiary of NewtekOne, is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to join our team! Unique opportunity to be part of a seasoned finance team, reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer of a dynamic company wholly owned by a financial holding company, which is regulated by the SEC and the Federal Reserve. As previously announced, the Company has entered into a definitive agreement to merge with a NASDAQ listed company. This key role is responsible for all general accounting functions of the largest operating unit of the company. Position will ensure that monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results are accurate, timely, and complete. Senior Accounting Manager will liaise with senior management to help build out the team for growth.

Job responsibilities to include:

  • Under the direction of the VP of Finance, work on day to day accounting responsibilities, managing accounting transactions and account reconciliations reporting up to the public company parent

  • Manage/build finance team at the operating unit

  • Has the ability to develop and maintain concrete accounting policies, processes and systems to ensure optimal controls for the company

  • Oversee the monthly close of the company books, the general ledger, and reporting of the financial results, on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis

  • Lead pivotal accounting projects as they arise (ASC606, ASC842, consolidations, etc)

  • Prepare monthly management financial flash which will include, revenue/expenses as well as financial comments with recommendations

  • Coordination of audits, tax compliance and the establishment and constant improvement of accounting policies which will include the development of efficient and effective processes that also support key areas of the business as well as internal controls

  • Responsible for testing internal control procedures and making improvements as needed.

  • Ensure activities of department complies with Sarbanes-Oxley, contractual agreements and policies and procedures.

  • Manage fixed asset system, adding and disposing of assets as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, with 7+ years of accounting leadership experience. Professional accounting designation (CPA) preferred.

  • Public Accounting experience and/or working knowledge of GAAP and GAAS

  • Working knowledge of SEC Reporting

  • Previous experience working with Auditors and tax advisors other third-party consultants

  • Experience with preparing budgets and/or providing budget information.

  • Possess above average Excel/Google Sheets and/or modeling skills to perform financial analysis

  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Windows based computer applications (Microsoft 365, Microsoft Office Suite; Excel and Word), Workiva wDesk, ConnectWise and SAGE Intact are significant pluses.

  • Industry experience in technology/SaaS a plus

  • Self-motivated with ability to motivate, lead and inspire others.

  • Possess strong professional oral, written and presentation skills as well as excellent analytic skills

The salary range for this position is $140,000 to $150,000 per year.

This position is required to work out of the Jericho, New York office at least once a month.
