What are we looking for?
Were looking for a Senior Accounting Associate to join our Financial Institutions team in one of our offices across the Southeast. The HORNE Financial Institutions group serves banks and credit unions doing internal/external audits, tax, and consulting engagements.
Day in the life:
  • Performs diversified accounting, auditing, and consulting assignments under the direction of Supervisor, Manager or Partner.
  • Prepares financial calculations and models.
  • Demonstrates competency in technical skills, work quality, and application of professional and Firm standards.
  • Meets time constraints and client expectations of deliverables.
  • Participates in planning and scheduling client projects.
  • Documents work performed and summarizes any findings.
  • Prepares written reports and/or sections to be included in a report.
  • Assists in proofing schedules, calculations, work papers, reports, and other documents.
  • Performs other duties as needed in projects and as assigned by supervisory personnel.
  • Assists in recruiting entry-level and experienced staff by serving as greeters for on-campus interviews and such other recruiting duties as needed and attend Beta Alpha Psi events, career days, and functions at colleges and universities sponsored by the Firm.
  • Develops relationships with clients and provides high quality client service. Adding value to clients businesses is an integral part of the job requirements. Begins to learn cross-selling opportunities and refer those opportunities to more qualified professionals.
  • Accepts responsibility for accuracy of data entry, accumulation, and maintenance in all aspects of what we do as an accounting and consulting Firm.
  • Learns through Performance Advisor or direct Supervisor proper delegation and management of workload and demonstrates ability to properly delegate and manage workload.
  • Assists in marketing and promoting the Firm.
What do we require?
  • Two (2) to three (3) years experience in public accounting or consulting, demonstrating a progression in complexity and number of projects
  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Accounting, or degree appropriate to practice area
  • Current and valid CPA license strongly preferred. If not currently a CPA, the ideal candidate must be CPA eligible and working toward obtaining licensure by taking and passing applicable state CPA exam
  • If CPA, must be a member in good standing with the AICPA and respective state societies
  • Proficiency in use of computers and computer accounting software, or software appropriate to practice group

Within Finance, Hilton Accounting and Finance Services (HAFS) manages the finance and accounting functions, both on property and at Corporate, allowing us to develop scalable, global financial processes. Our finance Centers of Excellence provides Hilton Team Members the chance for challenging career growth across a wide spectrum of critical financial functions. What will I be doing? As the Senior Analyst, OTC Hotel Accounting, you will work with the Team Lead to resolve accounts receivable and guest (transient) disputes. You will identify and process advanced deposits received from Group Catering and Event Sales clients. You will also perform continuous monitoring and tracking of outstanding payments from group master and convention related billings. More specifically, you will: * Handle guest inquires and provide appropriate resolution. * Engage hotel teams to assist with identifying issues, resolving disputes and obtaining client information as needed. * Engage your Team Lead to figure out if adjustments are required. * Maintain dispute resolution documentation in accordance with Hilton standards. This includes updating call logs and maintaining collections files. * Perform follow-up based on establishing a collections schedule of outstanding payments. * Review booking deposit reports to identify groups with advanced deposit requirements. This includes reviewing banking statements to identify and confirm receipt of advanced deposits. * Prepare deposit postings and confirm deposits were posted successfully. * Support special initiatives as directed by leadership. * Report results to others, effectively explaining and deciphering findings. * Develop cooperative and positive relationships with other finance and corporate departments. * Contribute to the establishment of specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish project and department goals. * Attend staff meetings pertinent to work assignments. * Research and respond to information requests from internal departments and management. * Maintain an upbeat, positive and motivated demeanor especially when interacting with Hilton guests, coworkers, and managers. * Ensure the privacy and security of confidential information about guests.
