Cox Communications is seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst to join our growing Enterprise Accounting division as a member on the Revenue team. This is an exciting opportunity to think strategically and drive change within an accounting function. This Senior Accounting Analyst will identify key data points and translate activity into information and insights to be used for leadership decision making.
This role will be expected to expand and strengthen business partnerships to improve analysis of variances, mitigate risk and enable better decisions. They will also own the revenue analysis and variance explanations for select Coxs core products and be the liaison between Accounting and the operational teams. Develops, recommends, and implements accounting practices throughout CCI in accordance with GAAP to ensure that financial and operating data accurately reflect the condition of the business and provides reliable information necessary to control operations. Continuous improvement mindset to optimize the effectiveness & efficiency of financial transactions. This role will report to the Revenue Accounting Manager.
Maintain a complete and accurate general ledger in accordance with GAAP.
Perform non-routine financial or operational analyses, used to identify, and communicate emerging trends, leading to determination of risks and opportunities.
Establish, and/or monitor/review, the execution of significant Accounting processes and procedures to ensure compliance with company established guidelines, while making recommendations for improvement.
Research and propose appropriate accounting treatment of non-routine transactions.
Create visualizations based on analyses performed on metrics and drivers associated with results. Present findings/status to different levels of leadership.
Identify variances to measure of record and provides detailed explanations.
Develop business partnerships and alignment, while providing subject matter expertise and consultation within area of focus.
Leads and or assists cross functional team to define, assign, monitor and complete project objectives.
Assist with policy updates & development.

5 or more years of experience required in related field (i.e. Accounting, Finance, etc.)
3 or more years of experience required if candidate possesses a related advanced degree.
Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SPSS, SAS, etc.
Excellent interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization.
BS/BA in related discipline strongly desired (i.e. Accounting, Finance, etc.)
Experience in telecommunications industry desired.
