Principal is looking for a talented leader interested in driving change to join our Principal Global Investors (PGI) business segment as a Senior Accounting Analyst on our Investment Accounting Team. In this fast-paced and challenging leadership role, you will have the opportunity to deepen your knowledge of investments and systems.
The Investment Accounting team is responsible for the daily and monthly accounting for our consolidated (General Account) derivatives, fixed income, and alternative investments. In this role, you will lead a team of finance and accounting professionals responsible for a variety of functions including accounting for alternative investments, monthly valuation process, daily cash application, and reconciliations. The right candidate will be energized by challenging the status quo, collaborating closely with other leaders, and developing, encouraging, and empowering their team to have a growth mindset.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience required.
8+ years of related experience required.
3+ years of formal leadership experience required.
CPA or other applicable certifications is a plus.
Must have excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Must demonstrate the ability to drive change, challenge the status quo, and identify opportunities for process improvements.
Proficient working knowledge of Excel and an aptitude to learn new technologies required.
A good understanding of Statutory and GAAP investment accounting principles is preferred.
Knowledge of PAM for Investments is a plus.
