We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant/Fiscal Analyst to support our agency's financial operations under the limited supervision of the Director of Administration and Finance. This role is essential in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our agency.

Senior Accountant/Fiscal Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Provide accounting support for state appropriations, capital projects, and federal grants.

  • Monitor budget and cash flow for general, other, and grant funds using the South Carolina Enterprise Information System (SCEIS).

  • Review Procurement Card (P-Card) statements for compliance and accurate accounting coding.

  • Review accounts receivable, accounts payable, and journal transactions, including travel reimbursements, for compliance and proper documentation.

  • Assist with updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Finance and Administration.

  • Respond to audit requests for the agency.

  • Perform various SCEIS tasks to ensure effective internal controls and accurate data.

  • Assist with agency contract maintenance.

  • Help complete various financial reports.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field and professional experience in a related area, such as accounting, auditing, finance, or banking.

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience in accounting and financial management.

  • Familiarity with SCEIS or similar financial systems.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to ensure compliance with accounting standards and procedures.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience using various budget, AP, AR and other SCEIS modules.

  • Proficiency in office practices and procedures, financial statement analysis, and state and federal regulations and laws applicable to the area of employment.
