Senior Accountant/Fiscal Analyst

The Department of Administration's (Admin) Office of Administrative Services is seeking a Senior Accountant/Fiscal Analyst to join our team. You will coordinate assets for all Admin offices and over twenty shared services agencies we support to ensure accurate balances, timely reporting, and routine asset inventory reviews. As a Senior Accountant/Fiscal Analyst you will train Finance staff on asset management and deposit processes and assist with General Ledger postings and reporting.

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant/Fiscal Analyst:

  • Act as lead Finance team member to ensure the recording and maintenance of assets for Admin and over twenty shared services agencies. Prepare and review of annual asset inventory reports for agencies.

  • Serve as Lead cashier for Admin and over twenty shared services agencies.

  • Assist the General Ledger Section of Admin Services Finance with processing of requested journal entries, cash transfers and corrections for Admin and over twenty Shared Services agencies. To include assisting with the preparation of year-end reporting packages for Statewide reporting purposes.

  • Enter Accounts Receivable entries and generate Accounts Receivable (AR) Aging reports to distribute to customers. Monitor AR Aging reports and perform analytical review to determine if applicable credits should be applied.

  • Train Finance staff on asset management and deposit processes.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, auditing, finance or government finance and professional experience. Relevant experience may substitute for degree on a year-for-year basis.

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and data processing procedures.

  • Must have good customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively.

  • Experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Knowledge of the State's fiscal policies and procedures.

  • Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with internal and external resources.
