Job Description

This accounting firm is seeking a Staff Accountant/Auditor to perform a wide variety of diversified accounting and auditing assignments. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Responsibilities:
Perform diversified accounting and auditing assignments under the direction of supervisor, manager, and/or partner
Plan, schedule, and supervise client engagements, meet time constraints, client deadlines, and engagement compliance deadlines
Communicate with client to receive information necessary to complete the engagement with a minimum of disruption to client
Direct and instruct assigned staff for work to be performed and lead the engagement work paper review
Prepare work papers and perform various procedures established under Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or other Comprehensive Basis of Accounting (OCBOA) to verify accuracy and validity of clients financial matters
Prepare audit reports and internal reporting documents as requested
Represent firm at intern recruiting fairs and collaborate with staff to mentor seasonal interns
Develop a network of industry peers and business contacts, meet with prospect clients, cultivate referral business, and travel when required
Perform all other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Accounting
Current State of Ohio Certified Public Accountants License
Must have 3 to 4 years of experience in public accounting, and demonstrative a progression in complexity of accounting tasks
Not-for-Profit accounting experience is desired
Must possess depth of technical knowledge sufficient to supervise staff, accounts, and/or perform tasks and duties independently
Must be familiar of GAAP, and other comprehensive basis of accounting, unique or specified accounting principles, and financial statement presentation
Must be self-directed, self-motivated, and work with an entrepreneurial approach to client service while building positive working relationships
Must be comfortable preparing and presenting workshops, seminars, and training sessions to both internal and external stakeholders

Core Responsibilities and Tasks: 1. Responsible for Intercompany accounts between SW-Ohio and all other divisions. * The creation and maintenance of the SW Ohio Inter-Company Monthly Statements for 0930XXX (intercompany) accounts. The statements detail all I/C activity between SW Ohio and their foreign trading partners including invoices and payment applications that are not part of the Virtual Trader system * The preparation and maintenance of the Hyperion "Out of Balance" reports reflecting the I/C activity reported for each country and the offsetting balances as reported by their trading partners using Monarch and Oracle General Ledger * The preparation of the monthly PDF "Out of Balance" reports to OnBase and mailing to international trading partners, including other selected data: o AOM Receipts report o VT reports o JV Drill detail o Print screens of Oracle G/L balances * Review the I/C reconciliations between SW Ohio and trading partner and investigate differences with the trading partner and Cleveland Customer Service 2. Accounting responsibility for the Virtual Trader (VT) Automated Inter-company (I/C) system. * Review of invoice data within the VT database to allow for the successful matching of the receivable and payable invoices using OnBase and Trade Automation * Reconciliation of the 0499001 (intercompany inventory in-transit) and 0960XXX (Virtual Trader intercompany) G/L accounts to the VT Automated I/C system invoice detail. This includes the following: o B100 o C001, C002, C003, C100, C401, C700 o D100 * Prepare the VT Unmatched, Discrepancy and ICS Matched reports used to complete the reconciliations * Twice monthly preparation of the "VT Report Information" analysis report and distribution. Analyze trends in the unmatched report and investigate * Hold twice monthly meetings with international countries using Virtual Trader to review discrepancies and unmatched invoices to resolve issues and expedite successful matching of invoices for payment. 3. Preparation of assigned AssureNet G/L account reconciliations, primarily relating to intercompany, intercompany inventory in-transit, and Virtual Trader intercompany. 4. On a quarterly basis, prepare the sales data worksheet, journal entry creation and JV uploading for the U.S and Canadian I/C settlement. 5. Responsible for recording and reconciling intercompany activity related to SW Australia DBD and Acquire Sourcing. 6. The updating of the "I/C Reconciliation Scorecard with SW Ohio" schedule. The schedule monitors the reconciliations that have been completed or are still awaiting completion. 7. Leads and performs special accounting projects as required. 8. Transactional Lean projects and documentation.
