Our client, a leader in one of the fastest growing industries, is seeking a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant position has primary responsibility to assist the CFO with the corporate finance oversight across numerous businesses. The role will provide accounting support for recurring transactions, management reporting, assist with the assessment of internal controls, and support the international businesses with the application of corporate financial policies.
Key Accountabilities:
Prepare the monthly and quarterly analysis and research variance root causes and determine action plans to improve financial statement or outlook accuracy.
Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries for certain legal entities. Includes consolidation adjustments to roll up multiple entites
Provide general accounting support to the international business finance teams
Participate in P&L and balance sheet reviews to ensure compliance, accuracy and trending with budgets
Supports the preparations of financial statements and MD&A for quarterly and annual external reporting in accordance with IFRS
Provide timely feedback to management to help resolve issues and/or inefficiencies.
Implement updated accounting procedures, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial reports.
Lead special projects as assigned by management. Various projects will have heavy interaction with the company
Bachelors degree in Accounting
Minimum 3 years of Accounting experience
Proficient in various ERP systems and working knowledge of Quickbooks
Business Travel as needed and up to 15%
Skills and Certifications
Public Accounting experience
SAP Experience Preferred
Bachelor's in Accounting

What we want you to do: * Prepare journal entries, monthly accruals and account reconciliations including Fixed Assets, Commissions, Deferred Rent, Financial and Operating Leases and Foreign Tax Payable accounts. * Review and approve cash and investments account reconciliations, including resolution of reconciling discrepancies on a timely basis. * Prepare depreciation and amortization entries including asset register reconciliations with an emphasis on register maintenance for completeness and accuracy. * Manage the deferred commission costs process in accordance with ASC 606 (Revenue Contracts with Customers) including the preparation of journal entries for monthly historical run out, capitalization and amortization. * Prepare quarterly workbook to evaluate capitalization of internally developed software costs. * Actively support the implementation of the new FASB lease accounting standard (ASC 842). * Ensure intercompany transactions are properly recorded and settled on a monthly basis. * Prepare and record consolidation entries to support the month-end close process. * Manage day to day tasks for various entities including quarterly reports and providing data for the income tax returns. * Lead process improvements initiatives. * Assist other accounting team members to accomplish department goals and objectives. * Support management efforts to establish appropriate internal controls and assist with the implementation of new policies and procedures. * Provide support for ad hoc projects. Basic Qualifications: * Bachelors or Masters in Accounting or Finance. * 4+ years of work experience; preferably with general ledger, month-end close and reconciliations in an ERP environment. * Advanced Excel skills required, along with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. * Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
