TheraNest was founded in Birmingham, AL. We provide comprehensive practice management software to mental health professionals so they may invest their time with people. In that same way, the Accounting team provides cross-functional services to people who also directly impact business goals. Responsibilities and goals you'll own:

  • Work on a variety of core accounting activities essential to running the business
  • Prepare and record general ledger journal entries
  • Cash, balance sheet and client invoice reconciliations
  • Assist with the accounts payable process
  • Analyze the financial statements and provide concise explanations for variances
  • Research period over period revenue variances, costs of sales and expense items, and provide explanations for fluctuations

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience
  • 5 years relevant work experience preferred
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, practices, and procedures, and banking functions
  • Prior experience in budgeting, cash management, and financial analysis
  • Highly skilled in analytical and statistical examination for complex problem solving
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Office Suite, Microsoft Dynamics GP (or Great Plains), and other accounting software
  • Technologically fluent using a variety of business tools like: #Slack, Intercom, Ring Central, G Suite, and 10-Key adding machine

The Senior Corporate Accountant will be responsible for the financial reporting duties listed below. * Serve as a strategic partner to our operating divisions on a wide range of business and financial issues * Assist in the implementation of the Revenue Recognition and Lease accounting standards, including review of construction and lease contracts * Perform financial reporting and accounting over Insurance Companies * Monthly financial reporting and Crystal report writing * Documentation of the Corporate Accounting processes and controls * Assist in the monthly revenue recognition process of our construction projects * Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting process * Operate as a liaison between the finance/accounting team and certain operational and corporate personnel * Reconciliation and review of general ledger and bank accounts * Prepare and post routine month-end close journal entries on assigned GL accounts * Learn and serve as back-up for other positions within the Accounting department * Assist with ad hoc reports and special projects as needed Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience * Bachelor's degree in Accounting required * Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in an Accounting role within an office environment * CPA or CCIFP strongly preferred * Experience leading a team and managing performance * Construction/real estate experience strongly preferred * Technology expertise including strong proficiency in Excel as well as desire to develop knowledge of existing company software products, including JD Edwards – E-1 and Crystal reporting * Excellent communication skills * Ability to multi-task and problem solve while meeting competing deadlines * Highly organized and detail oriented The above description covers the principal duties and responsibilities of the job.
