Under minimal to no supervision, the Sr. Accountant applies Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in preparing complex financial reports and various analyses to be used for management review.
Essential Duties and Responsiblities
Oversees timely submission of journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations for assigned areas.
Leads creation of supplemental schedules for all SEC filings.
Manages payments, reporting and review of Sales team Broker commission accounts.
Interprets and summarizes monthly profit data to justify income statement fluctuations.
Prepares documentation for sales and use tax reporting, property tax audits, and additional tax reporting.
Manages data collection for external financial audits.
Reviews wire payment requests and ensures proper documentation submission.
Assist Accounting Manager with reviewing work quality of the manufacturing facility accountants/ staff accountants.
Assists with special projects, as needed.
Minimum four years' experience in an accounting or related role and creating financial statements.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required
Knowledge of generally acceptable accounting principles
Experience with a general ledger system.
Experience creating and auditing financial statements.
Overtime is required during key periods, such as the month-end close and annual audit.
Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple priorities and strong attention to detail.
Computer skills including MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel PowerPoint.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate (verbal/writing) effectively.
Self-motivated and strong analytical / problem solving skills.
Ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization and across other functional areas.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Preferred knowledge of the Consumer Product Goods Industry.
Work with minimal supervision execute for results in a fast paced environment.
Ability to empower, motivate and inspire staff.
Previous supervisory experience a plus.
