Under minimal to no supervision, the Sr. Accountant applies Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in preparing complex financial reports and various analyses to be used for management review.

Essential Duties and Responsiblities

  • Oversees timely submission of journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations for assigned areas.

  • Leads creation of supplemental schedules for all SEC filings.

  • Manages payments, reporting and review of Sales team Broker commission accounts.

  • Interprets and summarizes monthly profit data to justify income statement fluctuations.

  • Prepares documentation for sales and use tax reporting, property tax audits, and additional tax reporting.

  • Manages data collection for external financial audits.

  • Reviews wire payment requests and ensures proper documentation submission.

  • Assist Accounting Manager with reviewing work quality of the manufacturing facility accountants/ staff accountants.

  • Assists with special projects, as needed.

  • Minimum four years' experience in an accounting or related role and creating financial statements.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required

  • Knowledge of generally acceptable accounting principles

  • Experience with a general ledger system.

  • Experience creating and auditing financial statements.

  • Overtime is required during key periods, such as the month-end close and annual audit.

  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple priorities and strong attention to detail.

  • Computer skills including MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel PowerPoint.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate (verbal/writing) effectively.

  • Self-motivated and strong analytical / problem solving skills.

  • Ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization and across other functional areas.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  • Preferred knowledge of the Consumer Product Goods Industry.

  • Work with minimal supervision execute for results in a fast paced environment.

  • Ability to empower, motivate and inspire staff.

  • Previous supervisory experience a plus.

Responsible for the completion of accurate transactions and timely completion of reconciliations and payment processing. Core Job Responsibilities/Key Activities/Elements: * Ensure general ledger accounts related to the consumer and residential loan portfolios are reconciled on a daily basis. Coordinating with the Consumer & Commercial Loan Servicing team to research and resolve any outstanding issues. Making the appropriate corresponding entries to the general ledger and DDA accounts for any corrections. * Responsible for working with the Consumer, Residential and Commercial Loan Closing team to ensure that all closing are funded in a timely manner and that financial transactions are accurately reflected on the banks books which financially impact the Bank. * Responsible for the timely processing for mortgage payments and payoffs to the loan servicing systems. Including but not limited to working with DMI to ensure payments and payoffs are processed timely. * Ensure that all suspense items are posted accurately and borrower received credit for their payment within the established SLA. * Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures. Perform additional accountabilities as required Required Experience * For this position, 2-5 years' experience in mortgage accounting/investor reporting preferred * Candidates with advanced degrees (Associates, Bachelor's, and/or Master's) preferred, yet a High School diploma or GED is required.
