Who we're looking for:

Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated, energetic individual who is ready to roll up their sleeves and quickly add value to a fast-paced environment. You will largely be responsible for the various accounting activities which are essential to maintaining the day to day GL of Starry. These activities range from daily transaction processing to monthly Financial Statement package preparation. Here at Starry, we are experiencing exponential growth and need someone who isn't afraid of putting in the leg work to get the job done.

You are:

Quick: whip smart and able to pick up knowledge on-the-go

Autonomous: self-motivated and able to deal with the ambiguity typical of an early-stage company

Detail oriented: able to spot irregularities in invoices or on financial reports

Organized: strong prioritization skills with an affinity for multitasking and details

What you'll do:

  • Responsible for the entire close process (month-end, quarter-end, and year-end) including balance sheet reconciliations such as fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accruals

  • Manage approval and appropriate accounting for all vendor invoices and expense reports

  • Quarterly remote inventory inspections

  • Collaborate with other teams on various projects

  • Assist with annual audits and tax filings

  • Assist with Netsuite implementation

  • Assist in monthly financial package preparation

  • Prepare monthly and ad-hoc financial reporting for senior management


  • BA/BS in Accounting or related field

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience including month-end close and variance analysis

  • 1-3 years public accounting experience

  • Proficient with Netsuite

Bonus points if..

  • You're a CPA or CPA candidate

  • You have experience with, Expensify, Stripe

  • You've worked in NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, or similar software

  • You have experience in a hardware-centric business

  • You are familiar with the Google Suite

  • You have a sense of humor

  • You have a positive attitude and can just roll with it

As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for monthly financial and general ledger close preparation and account analysis, working with accounting and cross-functional associates, special projects, assisting with technical analysis involving application of US GAAP, and identifying, implementing, and adhering to SOX internal controls. You will also assist in managing revenue accounting including customer contract review, and managing of accounts receivable and customer billings. NantHealth is a fast-paced environment and the ideal candidate will be a strong self-starter, with excellent multi-tasking and analytical skills, but will benefit from strong and dedicated peers in a cooperative and team oriented environment. The Basics * General and revenue accounting * Maintain overall accuracy and integrity of the general ledger. * Play an active role in month-end close process, prepare journal entries, perform account reconciliations. * Interface with other departments and business units to obtain information required for accounting analysis. * Prepare supporting analysis of significant estimates and assess reasonableness of assumptions used in estimates. * Revenue cycle management * Manage A/R and customer billings. * Maintain and communicate with project managers and account managers regarding contract documents, change orders, contract modifications, and other information related to customer projects. * GAAP and SEC reporting * Provide support for independent auditor reviews and audits of quarterly and annual SEC schedules; provide support for domestic and international tax filings; and provide support to internal auditors. * Prepare supporting schedules for financial statements. * Prepare trending analysis and other analytics for financial monitoring and accounting analysis. * SOX and Accounting processes support * Assist in the design and documentation of SOX processes and procedures in the monitoring of internal control over financial reporting. * Identify opportunities to improve processes, gain efficiencies, and continued improvements in the utility of the accounting systems. * Assist senior accounting department management with various special projects and ad hoc analysis on significant business transactions, accounting system implementations, and process improvement projects, as needed. What You Bring * Bachelors' Degree in Accounting, or other related field with supplemental accounting education. * CPA licence is a plus * 3+ years of progressive accounting experience. * Familiarity with US GAAP; experience with applying technical accounting standards a plus. * Experience with general accounting processes, internal controls, account analysis, and financial statement review; familiarity with revenue accounting and job costing/project accounting a plus. * Strong proficiency with Excel, and aptitude for information technology. * Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX (especially in the PMA and A/R modules) and Atlas a plus. * Strong verbal and written communication ability. * Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines. * Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. * Customer service driven with a focus on internal and external client service. * Self-motivated and team oriented; ability to work independently and within a goal oriented team.
