Senior Accountant Work: Hybrid Salary: $85,000-$100,000 Benefits:

Health, dental and vision insurance, 401K Job Summary Standard Forwarding Freight is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our growing LTL organization. In this role, you will be a key member of the accounting team, responsible for a variety of accounting functions including month-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), experience in the transportation industry, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Manage complex account reconciliations, with a focus on transportation-specific accounts. Perform detailed account analysis and investigate financial variances.

Support month-end and year-end close processes. Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations. Prepare and post journal entries.

Review and process invoices. Develop and maintain accounting documentation and standard operating procedures. Assist in annual audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors.

Generate management reporting and financial dashboards. Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.

Support internal control documentation and process improvements. Prepare internal financial reports for management. Assist with external reporting requirements.

Analyze financial data and provide insights to management. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with 3 years in the transportation/logistics industry. CPA certification strongly preferred.

Experience with accounting software systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle). Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Strong understanding of transportation-specific accounting principles. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work effectively in a lean, dynamic accounting environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with LTL (Less Than Truckload) accounting. CPA or CMA certification.

Experience with transportation management software (TMS). Familiarity with freight billing and revenue recognition. Understanding of transportation industry cost accounting.
