Accountant - Expense Accounting
OneMain Holdings, Inc. is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill an Accountant role in our Fixed Assets/Expense Accounting Department. This position fills the role of subject matter expert on the company's recording of fixed assets, leases and expenses.
Successful candidates applying will be able to execute the following duties:
Interact regularly with the Accounts Payable, Technology Asset Management, Financial Systems, Tax, FP&A, and Controllers Accounting teams in accomplishing your duties and responsibilities.
Review monthly transaction, to accurately record capital expenditures, including setting up new assets and processing requests to transfer, adjust, or retire assets.
Review and approve monthly transactions in BIGCenter to accurately record new, renewed and impaired leases.
Produce monthly, quarterly and annual roll-forwards & reconciliations of all fixed asset accounts.
Track the costs added to fixed asset and assist with comparison to the planned capital expenditures.
Produce monthly, quarterly and annual schedules for Close Package and SEC Reporting.
Produce monthly reconciliations for assigned accounts and supply explanations for any aging items.
Review P&L transactions for assigned accounts and prepare monthly variance analysis and answering questions from the Accounting and FP&A teams.
Book accrual journal entries during month-end close.
Work with internal and external auditors to provide requested quarterly and annual documentation and schedules.
Develop, challenge, and implement new expense accounting policies/procedures to achieve efficiencies and enhance reliability of reported expenses
Candidates applying to this position will be considered based upon the follow demonstrated qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
CPA or CPA candidate is preferred
3+ years of progressive experience in accounting roles
Strong Microsoft Office knowledge (Excel Pivot Tables, V-look ups)
Prior experience with a large, publicly-traded entity
Fixed asset accounting experience is preferred
Exceptional communications skills, both oral and written
Ability to think, and work, independently resolving challenging issues under tight deadlines
