Senior Accountant

Overview

Responsible to the Accounting Director for conducting complex assignments involving assignments or financial analysis, costing, inventory, fixed assets processes and reporting. The position requires a broad knowledge of accounting practices and procedures and calls for originality and ingenuity in developing strategies. Presents strategy recommendations to management. The ideal candidate will have a passion for building new tools and enhancing current processes, helping foster better automation and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Performs general ledger accounting by preparing journal entries and other general ledger-related activities.

• Improve and maintain management analytics and reporting.

• Assist with costing activities, including bi-annual costing in SAP.

• Responsible for all inventory accounting and related controls, including inventory valuation, physical inventory and cycle counting.

• Responsible for all fixed asset management. Includes CIP, asset transfers, capitalization and disposals.

• Support in the preparation of income statement and balance sheet statements

• Support in the preparation of budget and budgetary controls

• Prepares financial and operational analysis and reporting to management.

• Provide support and backup to accounting team members for all accounting activities.

• Coordinate with other departments, business units, and/or divisions on accounting matters.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, and 4 years of experience or equivalent.

• Knowledge of GAAP and SOX

• Enthusiasm for building new tools using technology.

• Proficient in MS Excel.

• SAP knowledge is preferred.

• Manufacturing experience preferred.

Compensation for this position

The compensation range for this role is $44,450-$92,611. The listed salary range or contractual rate excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, and any other forms of compensation or benefits. The starting salary will be determined by several variables, including but not limited to experience, education, training, certification, and location. You may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary incentive award, and program-specific awards, which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
