Summary of Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to assist with the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, to include recording of transactions, maintenance of accounting records, and ensure the reported results comply with GAAP. This role will have tremendous exposure to many aspects of the accounting cycle. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage timely and accurate financial close activities for revenue, with emphasis on deferred revenue and revenue on complex transactions.

  • Record monthly calculated revenue recognition and commissions in NetSuite in compliance with ASC 606.

  • Prepare monthly deferred revenue waterfall schedule and revenue reports.

  • Perform account reconciliations for Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts.

  • Responsible for month-end close activities, including recording journal entries and preparing supporting schedules.

  • Assist with the implementation of ASC 606 for revenue recognition and commissions.

  • Support sales team regarding commissions by distributing statements and timely responding to inquiries.

  • Prepare variance analysis during the close cycle and provide recommendations.

  • Prepare audit deliverables and respond to audit inquiries.

  • Define accounting policies and implement any changes.

  • Partner closely with internal teams to provide support, streamline procedures and processes.

  • Proactive approach to process management (i.e. intellectual curiosity to challenge the design, data, and outputs).

  • Prepare ad-hoc reporting requests.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with major in Accounting or Finance.

  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting required.

  • Strong MS Excel skills required.

  • Understanding of US GAAP.

  • Experience in revenue recognition.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and multi-task, team player.

  • Self-starter, driven, and passionate about technology.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Flexibility, fun attitude, impeccable character.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or CPA eligible.

  • NetSuite experience.

  • Understanding and experience of ASC 606.

  • Software, SaaS, Telecommunications and/or call center industry experience.
