What You'll Do:

  • You will be responsible for ensuring accuracy, timeliness, compliance, and efficiency of revenue transactions.

  • System and Data Analysis: Work with Oracle IT/Engineering team to research and investigate revenue transaction/reconciliation issues. Data mining and troubleshoot data feeds and provide recommendations for short-term and long-term system solution and process improvement.

  • Review sales arrangements to ensure proper revenue operation in accordance with company policy and revenue recognition accounting standards.

  • Responsible for revenue month end close activities; Prepare and review of journal entries, schedules to support monthly close package and quarterly internal and external audit requests.

  • Analyze and research revenue accounting matters, providing accurate and comprehensive documentation of issues identified and resolutions reached. Develop, implement and maintain desktop procedures for on-going revenue accounting activities.

  • Analyze revenue performance and analytics to identify risks and opportunities for improvements. Ensure compliance with key controls in the order to cash cycle, accurate GAAP reporting, audit requirements, and external reporting requirements.

  • Provide hands-on operational excellence in the financial aspects of a constantly evolving revenue channel.

  • Collaborate and partner with cross-functional teams to implement operational and financial systems. Work closely with sales, legal, engineer, sales operations, finance and outsourced teams to ensure effective Order to Cash process.

  • Travel to other sites as required.

Who You Are:

  • CPA or Public Accounting background with Big 4 is a plus

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance required

  • You have strong knowledge of revenue recognition in US GAAP 5+ years total accounting experience

  • You are experienced with Oracle and Salesforce is a PLUS.

  • Advanced MS Excel skills

Reporting to the VP Corporate Controller, the Senior Director, Revenue and Inventory Operations will be a key leader for the accounting department of a recently minted public company. This position will be responsible for setting the strategic vision for the revenue and inventory functions. The Senior Director, Revenue and Inventory will play an integral role for process improvement, system implementations and optimizations, and standardizing internal control processes. A successful candidate will be a hands-on and detailed oriented leader, with strong organization, management and communication skills. This position is based in San Francisco, CA and will report to the VP, Corporate Controller. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Revenue Operations: * Oversee revenue accounting, revenue operations, month end close, credit card processing and reporting * Identify, scope and drive critical projects to enhance the global order-to-cash and revenue accounting processes * Monitor relevant US GAAP and SEC developments to ensure revenue recognition policies and procedures are in compliance * Work closely with other functional groups to drive improvement in the revenue recognition and order to cash cycle * Lead technical accounting discussions relating to revenue recognition and be the subject matter expert to drive matters to conclusion. * Manage all revenue recognition matters with the external audit firm for quarterly reviews and annual audits * Develop and maintain SOX internal controls over financial reporting in the Order to Cash business cycle. Inventory Operations: * Lead all aspects of the inventory accounting process, including costing and control for a high volume merchandised single SKU inventory environment * Oversee and improve the month-end close of inventory and COGS * Lead future warehouse management system implementation * Supervise and grow the inventory accounting team as needed to scale * Collaborate with the warehouses, merchandising, and accounts payable teams on processes design and improvement to ensure proper accounting and reporting for the current business and future growth * Work with the fulfillment team to improve inventory control process * Partner with warehouse and operations during quarterly physical inventory count process * Ensure proper and accurate classification of inventory and costs * Oversee the preparation of and review monthly roll forwards, journal entries, reconciliations and reporting for inventory deposits, accruals, obsolescence, cost of goods sold, and analysis, KPI's and ratios REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance. * Certified Public Accountant (active status) required. * 10+ years of proven successful experience in accounting with a minimum of 5 years in a director level position with a Public Company. * Strong working knowledge of US GAAP technical accounting and business matters. * Polished communication skills with an ability to listen to the needs of the business, comprehend complex matters, and articulate issues in a clear and concise manner.
