Senior Accountant (Public Accounting Exp)

JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Accountant plays a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and contributing to strategic financial planning. This role requires a seasoned accounting professional with experience in assisting in the creation of efficient processes and developing month-end workflows and policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Understand, review and approve invoices for certain vendors.

• Work with vendors on issues on their invoices.

• Review and own expense reimbursement process for all employees.

• Manage capex and ensure invoices follow the process & recorded to the correct projects.

• Prepare journal entries during the month end close process.

• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for a set of accounts.

• Assist with the preparation of management reporting for internal purposes.

• Assist with the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

• Assist with the consolidation process during month end.

• Understand current processes and assist in building new more efficient processes.

• Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.

• Review and understand where business improvements can be put in place for optimal business performance.

• Prepare ad-hoc and analysis reports as requested.

• Other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• College degree in finance or accounting preferred.

• Minimum of 3 years applicable work experience - Public Accounting Audit/Assurance preferred.

• CPA Preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures

• Familiarity with financial accounting statements

• Extremely organized and detail orientated.

• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Quick learner who can prioritize and multi-task.

• Good communication skills

• Able to take direction to work independently and as part of a team.

• Takes pride and ownership in job responsibilities.

• NetSuite experience preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• In Person office environment

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES AND COORDINATION:

• Direct reports include Senior level accounting team members.
