Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and document specialized passenger revenue accounting activities in accordance with GAAP, established policies and procedures, and industry standards

  • Represent revenue accounting on new company initiatives. Coordinate business process changes, process improvements, testing and impacts to internal controls across revenue accounting teams and related systems.

  • Analyze new business initiatives or changes to existing business models and ensure proper accounting treatment

  • Gather information to determine the accounting and procedural impact of industry and regulatory mandates.

  • Provide financial and accounting analysis assistance to revenue accounting leadership

  • Ensure establishment and documentation of proper internal controls through the definitions of appropriate policies, procedures and controls

  • Identify and implement process improvements and controls

  • Support audits of financial, statistical and regulatory reporting by Corporate Audit, external auditors, and government agencies

  • Review reconciliations and journal entries performed by accountants and/or outsourced vendor

  • Assist in training and support of oursourced (offshore) vendor

  • Perform reconciliations and create journal entries for complicated transactions

  • Professional development and other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5 or more years professional work experience in accounting

  • Requires understanding of general accounting principles and accounting processes

  • Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word and Excel)

  • Ability to work within strict deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA

  • 3 or more years internal or financial audit experience

  • Airline experience

  • Experience with SOX requirements and best practices

  • Experience supporting accounting systems

Apply strong accounting standards to produce financial statements in accordance to GAAP and other comprehensive basis of accounting principles. Collaborate and partner with business leaders by providing financial support and reporting necessary to make solid business decisions. Perform a variety of administrative support tasks and duties to assist with the day-to-day activities as assigned the Director of S&M Corporate Accounting Communicates effectively with business partners to ensure full understanding of tasks, data and deadlines are clearly outlined and administered. Administer and provide assurance that all financial activities are being performed in accordance with documented policy and internal controls. Interacts with all site locations and management personnel to compile and maintain the integrity of the data. Assist with training and coaching of staff accountants with support of department supervisor, manager or director.
