Years of Experience: 5+ years in accounting (minimum of 3 years in government contracting.)
OGSystems seeks to hire a Senior Accountant for our beautiful Chantilly, VA Headquarters. Position requires exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, analytical skills and customer service. Work with fun people in a stable company with great benefits and an opportunity to grow!
Responsibilities include the following:
Reviews and approves accounting transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, GL entries and intercompany transactions
Manages bank reconciliations, cash balances and cash projections;
Maintains General Ledger, ensures accuracy of all GL reconciliations, and assists with month-end closing including financial statement consolidations;
Assists with Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data;
Supports Incurred Cost Submission and annual/monthly indirect budgeting and forecasting;
Assists with audits of financial statements and project specific audits;
Maintains and updates as needed accounting policies and procedures and ensure compliance of FAR and DCAA;
Responsible for various deadline-driven financial reporting as required.
Must love numbers!
BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
5-7 years of work experience directly related to the job function with at least 3 years in government contract accounting
Expertise in generally accepted accounting principles and policies
Deltek Costpoint experience is strongly preferred
Demonstrated advanced skills in MS Excel
Intercompany accounting and financial consolidations experience desired
Familiarity with FAR and CAS requirements for Government Contracting
Understanding of indirect rate structures and contract types (CPFF, FFP, T&M)
Detail oriented and dependable, problem solver
Demonstrate leadership skills, taking initiative and willingness to improve or implement new processes and procedures
Able to work independently, multi-task and prioritize effectively
Excellent people skills with a customer-service oriented approach, and a focus on building relationships with people at all levels of the organization
Detailed understanding of project finance, accounting, and government contracting
Proven track record of ability to manage others
Ability to handle sensitive situations in a professional manner
Strong communication skills - both verbal and written
Demonstrate a positive attitude that reflects favorably on the company
