We currently seek a Senior Accountant to join our division located in Avon, CT, and help support our continued business growth. This role can work a hybrid remote schedule.

This position will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting functions, including cost analysis, manufacturing variances, purchase price variance, inventory management, balance sheet reconciliation, reserve calculations, and monthly journal entries. This role will also assist the Controller with financial analysis comparisons and sales & use tax entries. This position will provide support for the Accounts Payable position covering multiple locations.

Our goal is to provide customer satisfaction to all levels of the operation and provide fiscal input for decision making.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Inventory reconciliations and reserve calculations

  • Analysis of manufacturing variances

  • Develop and analyze manufacturing cost standards.

  • Analyzing data of operational costs vs plan

  • Account reconciliations

  • Month-end close responsibilities

  • Fixed assets and capital investment requests

  • Assist the Tax Manager with Sales & Use Tax Audits

  • Assist with gathering information for the yearly external audits.

  • Backup support for Accounts Payable Specialist, Labs Customer Service Representative, and for setting up new vendor and customers in the ERP system.

  • Review and reconcile received not vouchered reports to ensure we have invoices for material received.

  • Quarterly intercompany reconciliations

  • Perform fixed asset physicals

  • Assist with various audits.

Key qualifications include:

  • BS degree in Accounting.

  • 4-7 years of relevant Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong background in Cost Accounting.

  • Experience using an ERP, JDEdwards preferred.

  • Thorough understanding of the manufacturing process and an understanding of the larger, surrounding responsibility areas and functions, such as purchasing/receiving and order entry/shipping.

  • Should be comfortable with closing the books, cost accounting, fixed assets, balance sheet reconciliation, and journal entry posting. Understanding of AP/AR desired.

  • Excellent attention to detail.
