Our Newest Opportunity:


The Senior Accountant works with the Retirement and Wealth Division Director of Finance to execute a variety of financial procedures, including month-end and year-end closings, accounts payable and receivable, tax returns, bank reconciliations, general ledger reviews, forecasting and budgeting. The Senior Accountant also analyzes corporate financial operations to ensure the business is running efficiently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Month-end Close: assist in month-end closing processes, prepare journal entries and make adjustments accordingly; Prepare fixed asset schedules, complete balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Audit Assistance: participate and report to external auditors, providing useful documentation, spreadsheets, and cash information that help with yearly and periodic audits.

  • Cash management: provide cash reporting on a daily basis; balance the general ledger to daily bank transactions.

  • Assist with the monthly AR estimate process by reviewing commission history to reconcile payment and billing dates.

  • Identify and troubleshoot potential billing challenges to assist in the timely and accurate collection of outstanding accounts receivables.

  • Document payment cycles, billing cycles, and error reports in order to assist with revenue tracking and account maintenance.

  • Prepare journal entries and make adjustments accordingly.

  • Prepare bank reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Participate and report to external auditors, providing useful documentation for the yearly and periodic audits.

  • Provide external auditors with documentation and explanations for annual audit; assist external tax firm with documentation for preparation of quarterly and annual income tax schedules.

  • Review overall monthly financial statement; prepare financial statements for all office locations.

  • Provide cash reporting on daily basis; balance GL to daily bank transactions.

  • Respond to inquiries from senior management regarding financial results and special reporting requests.

  • Perform additional responsibilities assigned by management.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:

  • Must be able to produce accurate work despite frequent interruptions.

  • Expert-level Excel proficiency with demonstrated ability to work with large volumes of data to generate reports across multiple cost centers.

  • Ability to quickly master internal technology platforms

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or Business with emphasis in Accounting, required;

  • Master's degree in Finance/Accounting and CPA, a plus.

  • Three to five years' experience in Accounting, a plus.

  • Must be highly skilled in use of Microsoft Office.

  • Financial reporting experience, a plus.

  • Experience with Dynamics GP, a plus.

  • Experience posting cash receipts to Microsoft D365, a plus.

  • Experience invoicing through Workday, a plus.

  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential matters.

Role and Responsibilities: Fixed Assets * Timely posting of Company assets purchased, sold or disposed in the Company's fixed asset system as well as general ledger. * Booking depreciation expense for Company owned assets. * Periodic physical inventory of assets to validate accuracy of Company's books. * Payment of Property Taxes and Sales and Use Tax as required by state or local governments. * Interacts primarily with IT and facility operations employees and has good working knowledge of Company's fixed asset system. Corporate Budget Preparation * Serves as the primary role for coordinating and preparing the annual Company budget. * Creates and distributes annual budget worksheets for department heads. * Works with department heads and leadership team to project and update expenses for upcoming fiscal year. * Prepares salary and benefit expense information for the annual budget, and gathers data to calculate accurate revenue and membership projections for budget. * Presents the annual budget to the CFO for review and approval before board presentation. General Ledger and Financial Statements * Compile and prepare monthly financial statements as well as supplemental management reporting schedules. * Ensure that financial statements and records are maintained in compliance with GAAP. * Analyzes statements and seeks understanding or appropriateness for account fluctuations versus budget and prior year. * Periodically assess the accuracy of cost allocations among products and lines of business. * Process weekly reimbursements and special monthly filings for various clients, and journal entries for various accruals and expenses. Qualified candidates will have: * 4 or more years of relevant accounting experience. * Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business PREFERRED * 1-2 years of experience in the health care industry. * Master's Degree or CPA. * Experience presenting complicated data in a high-level fashion.
