The primary focus of the Senior Accountant is to fulfill and manage the daily cash accounting processes, analyze and record general accounting accruals, support servicing transfer accounting activities, perform monthly expense fluctuation analysis, and complete assigned monthly reconciliations.


  • Facilitate all accounting cash processes, including recording cash activity journal entries for all companies.

  • Work closely with the Treasurer, funding department, and loan sales department to identify and record miscellaneous activity.

  • Provide thorough monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts. Investigate and resolve reconciling differences in a timely manner.

  • Support the loan accounting group to identify and clear loan related accounting differences.

  • Work with the Accounting Manager to record intercompany activity.

  • Analyze and record the month end general accounting accruals across all expenses categories.

  • Back-up the Servicing Accountant on servicing related transfer activities such as the daily boarding file reconciliation.

  • Perform monthly expense fluctuation analysis and support unusual variances.

  • Troubleshoot accounting related problems and address in a timely manner. Communicate in a clear and concise manner to the Accounting Manager and Controller.

  • Enforce SOX compliance and custodial controls for the cash related processes.

  • Support the Accounting Manager and Controller on various audit and compliance requests.

  • Cross-train in other accounting processes and perform other duties as needed.


Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar discipline is required

  • At least 2 years' experience working in a highvolume, highpressure environment involving the use of advanced spreadsheet functions and reporting tools.

  • CPA preferred or experience with public accounting

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements

  • Proficiency in Advanced Microsoft Office applications, including being a strong Excel User (Advanced Pivot Tables, Advanced Macros, Advanced Look-ups).

  • Must be extremely detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Requires organization, the ability to manage multiple projects, and the willingness to complete assignments and projects in a time sensitive environment.

  • Must be flexible and willing to work closely with other employees within the department, other business channels, and other Affiliates and Subsidiaries within the Company.

  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with the Manager and other Senior Members of the Company.

The Senior Communications Specialist / Manager will be a member of the BrightView Communications and Public Affairs group. Communications is one of several departments headed by the company's Chief Marketing Officer. The successful candidate for this position will provide support around a broad group of needs, including internal, external and executive communications as well as social media. This department has widespread responsibilities providing enterprise direction and support across a $2.3 billion service organization with 20,000 distributed team members. The Senior Communications Specialist / Manager will work in concert with other members of the Communications and Marketing departments and report to the Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs. The Senior Communications Specialist / Manager will focus primarily on identifying, researching, producing and distributing internal and external communications that build awareness of the BrightView brand and advance the company's interests across businesses, regions and functional areas. The Senior Communications Specialist / Manager will be part of a team responsible for telling BrightView's story to its own team members and to external audiences through websites, intranet sites, social media channels, and trade and consumer press. BrightView is seeking candidates with five years' experience in either a corporate or agency setting. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and growth oriented professional; a strong writer and publicist with experience in the strategic use of digital/social media. The Senior Communications Specialist / Manager will work with other members of the Corporate Communications/Public Affairs/Marketing team as well as support the communications needs of BrightView's business units and functional areas. What you'll do: * Write news releases for external distribution to promote new projects, strategic initiatives, addition of key team members, or other significant change within BrightView's various lines of business. * Assist in the administration of commercial website and internal intranet updates, editing and content creation. * Write news stories on subjects relevant to BrightView's team members for distribution through a variety of traditional and digital channels. * Working with internal and external video producers, identify and produce broadcast quality news that builds awareness of BrightView with external (trade and consumer media) and internal audiences. * Render communications services in support of corporate initiatives and BrightView's marketing program. Conceive, package and pitch stories to trade and consumer media. * Assist in the conception, planning and execution of community engagement programs and events. Support the communications needs of BrightView's Corporate Responsibility programs. Skills we're seeking: * Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited four-year institution with an academic emphasis in journalism, English, communications or marketing. * Five years' professionally relevant experience in a corporate, institutional or agency setting. * Superior communication skills across all channels, including social media. * A proven publicist able to secure placements in traditional and trade media.
