Moffatt & Nichol is actively searching for a Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting branch located in our Long Beach office.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for month-end financial close process

  • Strong GL reconciliations

  • Process/review various journal entries, including deferred rent, depreciation/amortization, accruals, and etc.

  • Perform financial flux analysis and identify trends and variances

  • Compile consolidated financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, equity statement and cash flow statement

  • Heavily engaged in financial audit and assist in audit report preparation including disclosures

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP/General Accepted Accounting Principals

  • Knowledge/experience with FAR overhead (preferred but not required)

  • Compile financial report and ad hoc reports for quarterly board reporting package

  • Strong knowledge in accounting process and procedure, and internal controls

  • Seeking improvement and enhancement in process and controls

  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experiences in public and/or private Engineering industry

  • Bachelor degree in financial or accounting or business related

  • CPA is preferred but not required

  • Audit experience is preferred but not required

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-motivated
