The Position

The Senior Accountant is a key member of the Finance Team, utilizing practical accounting experience and in depth understanding of accounting principles to perform accounting activities and financial analyses in all areas of general accounting. This position is an individual contributor role, playing an active part in daily Finance Team functions, and reports to the VP Finance. This is a fully remote position, with a work schedule to accommodate EST and travel to meetings and hospitals, as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain the general ledger

  • Prepare journal entries

  • Collaborate with the hospitals to complete timely and accurate physical inventory counts; reconcile Inventory and prepare book to physical inventory adjustments, when appropriate

  • Reconcile hospital revenues, comparing the transactions at the bank with the hospital practice management software reports

  • Prepare revenue accounting journal entries to record VIP membership activity

  • Manage Expensify corporate credit card activities and ensure accuracy of transactions recorded in the general ledger

  • Manage all leases; record journal entries, as required by GAAP

  • Perform variance analyses and account reconciliations

  • Assist with audit preparation

  • Assist in Payroll Processing and payroll/benefits administration, as a backup to the Financial Accounting and Reporting Director

  • Perform other accounting duties as assigned

  • Proficiency with NetSuite, Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn Paycor and Expensify

Minimum Qualifications

  • More than three years of general accounting experience, preferably in a multi-location environment

  • Experience with Partnership Accounting, while not mandatory, is preferred

  • Bachelor 's degree in business or related discipline preferred, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

  • Ability to communicate effectively with others online or telephonically

  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times

  • Must be able to travel as necessary to Team meetings and hospitals, as needed
