Location: First three (3 months) onsite; Possibility of hybrid after three months. Office location- Waltham

Summary of position:
The Baker Center for Children and Families (also known as Judge Baker Children's Center), promotes the best possible mental health of children and families through the integration of research, intervention, training, and policy.
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the day-to-day fiscal operations of The Baker Center for Children and Families (TBC) and with the Director of Finance drives TBC's financial strategy and planning. The Senior Accountant will coordinate and execute monthly financial transactions and activities. The Senior Accountant prepares regular financial reports and assists the Director of Finance in the annual financial audit, budget process, and 990 tax return preparation.

Essential duties:
Responsible for the timely and accurate monthly financial reporting to all Program Directors and Senior Leadership. Educating and assisting their understanding of these reports and programs.
Assists the Director of Finance in the annual audit engagement with our audit firm which includes the financial audit, federal single audit, UFR, 403(b) pension audit, and tax return filings (Form 990, 990-T, Form PC, and Form 5500's).
Assists the Director of Finance in planning and forecasting activities with program directors to achieve division and enterprise goals.
Partners with the Director of Finance as the team lead in the annual budgeting process and responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the budget workbooks. Leads the administration of the annual budget planning timeline and deliverables.
Provides the Director of Finance core reporting that is foundational in the preparation of the annual audited financial statements.
Maintains the MIP accounting system.
Supports program and administrative staff with ad hoc analysis and reporting requirements.
Supports the Accounting team in their duties managing cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and invoicing.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting, Finance, or related business area.
Experience:
3-6 years of not-for-profit accounting experience
General Ledger, Billing, and Payroll experience
Advanced level Excel skills required.
Commonwealth of Massachusetts contract experience.
Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office, MIP Fund Accounting, and other financial planning software.
UFR experience is highly desirable.
Working knowledge of GAAP principles.
Training:
Familiarity with payroll/HRIS systems.

SALARY: $80,000-$85,000/annually
